Nice to see locals and bigger names mixed in to the pics. I would love to know what the local guys feelings were on the level of competition this year vs last. Seems to be more DNFs this year (harsher weather maybe – cold rain vs hot dust last year). However the start list last year seemed deeper (Ouch, Bissell, TT1,a few Garmins and BMC).

This year had worse weather for sure but far less mechanicals due to harder packed dirt roads. It was also WAY faster with an avg speed of 43km/hr vs last year’s roughly 38km/hr. I’d say the the field was deeper even without having BMC. Fly V, Baby Garmin (Holowesko Partners), Bahati, Rapha Condor, Jamis – Sutter Home, and the young Livestrong team all had pretty deep talented fully supported squads. TT1 and Kenda also had great guys lined up and full support too. Bissell and Ouch were great teams last year but they sent small squads with little support to Battenkill.
