Owasco Photo Journal

Section head text.

Forty or so NYC area riders made their way to upstate Owasco on the beautiful Finger Lakes for the second edition of the Owasco Stage Race put on by the local Rotarians. They have big ambitions for a top domestic pro race in the future. With the exception of some uncooperative weather on Saturday night’s criterium, the whole town seemed very friendly and understanding of the cyclists’ needs. A small town with a great natural resource of well paved winding hilly roads around a lake, cycling and Owasco are a great match.

“Baby Bulls” Adam Duncan, a promising new Merrill Lynch rider, rode a strong time trial, his first ever.

@##=#<12,L>@##=#“Not to be overlooked” Luis Perez of Sakonnet made a bold move at the end of the cat 4 crit and bagged himself 4th place.

“Wait, I should look sad for the picture” After riding a brilliant time trial, missing the win by about 3 seconds, NYC pro Todd Herriott (Colavita Olive Oil) punctured in the road race and lost his chance to contest the overall win.

“I rode two TT’s this weekend!” Anthony Accardi, CRCA, placed third in the men’s Cat 4 TT. On Sunday he was dropped in the road race on the first big climb but then made a brilliant 10 mile solo TT to get back on the select front group, albeit briefly. To read his account of the race click

Adam Duncan

Awesome photos, Alex. Great job to all the Skyline boys. They worked hard to get those places.

Puny

Adam, thanks for your work in the race.

You helped out a lot especially allowing me to move in front of you out of the wind.

O’Puny Report

Skrewed on Skyline

Two podium finishers on one stage– and we get LAST billing in this report? Jeez, who wrote this thing?

Sandbagger accusations

Many people are being accused of sandbagging who either don’t have the points to upgrade or are in the process of upgrading. Please don’t be so quick to judge.. Sherry is moving up the ranks methodically and is anxious to be a 2, relax it takes a lot of points

Bag This

The guy was a Cat. 4 until last July or August. I say beat up on the Cat. 3’s for at least a year.
