SLIPSTREAM SPORTS ANNOUNCES ADDITIONS TO 2011 TEAM ROSTER

BOULDER, COLORADO (September 1, 2010) — Slipstream Sports today announced six additions to the 2011 roster, marking the remaining Cervélo TestTeam riders to join the newly formed Team Garmin-Cervélo.

Roger Hammond (UK), Heinrich Haussler (AUS), Andreas Klier (GER), Brett Lancaster (AUS), Daniel Lloyd (UK) and Gabriel Rasch (NOR) will join teammate Thor Hushovd (NOR) in 2011. These seven will be joining Garmin riders including Tyler Farrar, Ryder Hesjedal, Christian Vande Velde, David Zabriskie and Dan Martin.

“Team Garmin-Cervélo’s roster will be strong and versatile,” said Jonathan Vaughters, CEO, Slipstream Sports. “All of these riders bring a lot of experience to what’s already a great team. I’m proud of what we’ve done since 2008, and I’m excited for what we’ll do in 2011.”

The creation of Team Garmin-Cervélo is still under development. More information, including an official team roster, will be released as it becomes available.

Who are Slipstream going to can? I don’t like them canning people – they are meant to be the good guys.

And why don’t they do interviews with NY Velocity any more? Too many gas questions?

For sure Trent lowe is leaving at the end of the season for the new aussie team…If the new aussie team gets pro tour status I bet that bobridge moves there as well…and even though JV likes tommy d i am guessing Tommy D is on the bubble- if he has a good vuelta he is in, if not….

Is the newly fashionable, KoS-worthy, black & white with predominantly iconic “e” logo going the way of the dodo, or is the argyle being further subdued. I kinda can’t fathom a suitable amalgam that will have all local team kit designers running to emulate for next season.

Tyler doesn’t have to worry about losing his job to Thor, who gets rid of one of the best young sprinters in cycling?

harryeyeball

Poor word choice. I should have said “position.” Tyler has got to be worried about who Garmin’s #1 sprinter is going to be (unless there have already been some discussions internal to the team.) That being said, it could be a huge advantage for him to have Thor as a mentor like Cav had Zabel.

I think Thor’s going through the sprinter “change of life” and transitioning into a spring classics guy. Is this “jaja-pause”?
