As a lark I submitted this strip to VeloNews for their new ‘Site of the Day’ feature, and I woke up the next day to find that it had become the 2nd site cited as the site of the day. Outta sight! That mention got us almost 20,000 hits that day. I’m sure 19,990 of those readers were just confused.

This is one of my all time favorite Totos. There’s about 25 separate little jokes buried in there.

I actually laid out a fake newspaper (The Toto Picayune), printed it out on newsprint, tore it out against a saw blade (to create a jagged edge), and shot it as a breakfast still life.

For a guy who loves to mock the French, Schmalz sure has a big obsession with Capri pants. Our writing sessions usually consists of him dissuading me from overt political content, and me begging him to not pursue dance fighting or capri pants plot lines.
