Comcast SportsNet’s Coverage Features Preview Specials, Local Cyclist Profiles and Classic Race Memories
Philadelphia – 06/02/2010 – Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia will air the most comprehensive coverage of the 2010 TD Bank Philadelphia International Cycling Championship in the event’s history. Comcast SportsNet’s coverage is scheduled for Sunday, June 6, live in high definition from 12 Noon to 3:30 p.m. Comcast SportsNet will also provide a live simulcast of the race on VERSUS beginning at 1:30 p.m. This is the first time Comcast SportsNet will air the race, and the first time it will be broadcast in high definition. In addition to live race day coverage, Comcast SportsNet’s notable race programming includes a 30-minute race preview, a five-part series focusing on local cyclists competing in the race and the lore of the Manayunk Wall, plus a classic race from 1986.Race DayHost Gregg Murphy will be joined by local cycling expert John Eustice in covering the 2010 TD Bank Philadelphia International Cycling Championship on Sunday, June 6th from Noon until 3:30 p.m. Eustice is a Philly-area native and a former U.S. National Cycling Champion. Former international cyclist Jessica Grieco-Casey will report on the riders’ experience live from an on-course motorcycle. The race is known for attracting a large crowd of energetic and passionate cycling fans and Comcast SportsNet’s Marshall Harris will cover the pulse of the fans throughout the day. Murphy and Eustice will host Comcast SportsNet’s coverage live from a special race-day set atop the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Comcast SportsNet’s coverage will utilize multiple on-course cameras, a helicopter gyro cam and two motorcycle-mounted cameras.
Comcast SportsNet will replay the 2010 TD Bank Philadelphia International Cycling Championship on Sunday, June 6 at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, June 12 at 8 p.m. and Wednesday, June 9 at 7 p.m. on The Comcast Network. The race will also be available on Comcast On Demand beginning on Monday, June 7.1986 Classic Race ReplayCoverage of the 2010 TD Bank Philadelphia International Cycling Championship begins this Saturday, May 29 at 3 p.m. when Comcast SportsNet replays the 1986 race. This classic race features U.S. Pro contender Davis Phinney, whose son Taylor is now a rising star in the cycling world. The 1986 race will replay on the Comcast Network on Thursday June 3 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, June 5 at 2 p.m. on Comcast SportsNet.SportsNite FeaturesBeginning this Sunday, May 30 and running up to race day, Comcast SportsNet will profile the local riders Tyler Wren, Kyle Wamsley and Theresa Cliff Ryan, plus we’ll take viewers on a tour of the course, and Gregg Murphy and Marshall Harris will attempt to tackle the Manayunk Wall.
