Too hard to separate the fields today, so all the shots will just go up in two parts. Gavi Epstein won the 123, Steve Marmo the 34. Help with the masters and the 5’s please.

Right move at the right time.
Stayed away after clearly being in sight at the EG straight away. That gets caught 9 out of 10, so kudos to you and your break mates.

sprint finish or break?

No break
Schiatuzzo Bushing
Axis (Danny?) and a couple of guys rode off pretty far on the last lap but got caught. Sprint finish

I think we had them in sight 2 or 3 times and they stayed away

Terrible decision by Van Dunk to let the 5’s start w/masters field. Made for many dangerous moments. Clueless riders from the the 5 race ignored guys who have been racing bikes for the past 20-30 years that maybe they should either attack or settle in, not chase another race or tempo the field inbetween counters. Not too bright closing gaps of attacks in the Masters race negating anything from rolling off for the first couple laps.
Great for guys who wanted to sprint since they had a group of inexperienced riders keeping it together as best they could but dangerous for all else and just a bad decision all together. Thanks Anthony, I still have a lump in my throat but luckily nothing happened….LUCKILY!

Nicolas David (Propeller Racing) won the 5’s.

River road is still closed to traffic. Anyone try to ride it?

The 5’s & the masters raced together? Isn’t the point of a masters race to provide a sketch-free race for the “mature” racers? If this is true, reality is 5’s should’ve gone with 3/4’s as that’s the 5’s next stop–not middle age

The Sun Masters SS race was sketchy as hell with the inclusion of the 5’s. Most luckily got dropped after a lap, except for the ChampSys jersey guy who single handed pulled the entire field around for 3 laps. I later heard that he is a pro MT Biker. Why is he a 5?

You should have tried the 1/2/3 race. That thing was sketchy as well. My favourite was the guy wearing the iPod, or maybe he was getting instructions from the team car. Another highlight was when the big, big man from Zephyr (I think) pushed through to the front for a brief spell and the Spanish guys all got excited and started yelling – El Gordito. I always thought that was a menu item at Taco Bell. Other than that everybody managed to keep it wheel side up which seemed like a minor miracle at times.

Why are good riders still 5s/4s/3s? Why doesn’t Van Dunk post results? Where’s my pic? Is it possible to create a spinoff site called nyvelocidiot.com where we can address all the remedial questions from commenters?

leave it to organic….they sign up freak riders from time to time.

so what, he didnt do anything but ride a safe race? Call out NYVC, now they suck! Even if they ride the most expensive bikes, one cat5 has a full carbon Gnat w Di2 easy over 10k$…but can he even get out of his own way?

More hate? NYVC has made racing more accessible and is a great way to break into the sometimes clique ruled scene. Why bitch on a cat 5 – what are YOU doing in the C race anyway? And so what if some newbie wants to drop $10k on a bike – it doesn’t pollute the environment and rarely do you need a clean up crew like when some 18 y/o moron wrecks his $10K+ honda/yamaha/ducati trying to top it out.
nice rant.
