what an idiot , that velonews article about a year ago had him mailing epo to california to lagrande. with a photo of the two of them with the stuff

that is a federal crime , i thought he was going down

West Coast Reader

It might be a “tight roll” but I thought the reporter rode over in his Huffy and had to tie down his bell bottoms or parachute pants so they didn’t get caught in his chain!

LaCorte1

TTown has ashfalt below the blue band, aluminum grandstands and steeper banks.. I would be surprised if the pics really are ttown…

West Coast Reader

I’d say San Diego but there are not enough pot holes on the track!

The old Domingues track is gone but wasn’t it wood (made of)? Maybe Encinodrome is the place?

Wheelsucker

then who?
Atala-Somec-dispersed…timeline and roster? That would be a cool event to get those juniors back together again!

A Chem Bank/Toga/Stuyvesant throw down…

I remember that race. I raced the juniors and hung out to watch the Pro-Am. Started raining halfway through and Frank and Mark shot straight to the front. I was on the inside of turn 3 when the 2 of them clipped out of their inside pedals and dragged their feet cyclocross style. The rest of the field fell apart in the rain and those New England crossers killed it.

Well, pic # 3 i don’t think is Mike , i think just pic 2 is Mike … i cant say who the rider is in pic 3 but i know its not Mike ? though i think the era is 1988 from the jerseys…. i really don’t think its Steve Hegg either, is it maybe Shawn Wallace or Carl Sundquist or i bet not either of them either, but that just my 2 random guesses?

Wheelsucker

He sold to 187 people? i m sure some were local. he used to race around ny nj all time. i bet some locals are a little nervous…

having curated a sublime ralpha wardrobe for use whilst training as well as apres-cycle, i am far from appearing dorky. smarmy, perhaps. but not dorky.

Wheelsucker

is that a kid (in the back) mixing it up with the big guys?
ha ha… or cast member of little cyclist, big race

Finnie sas, “I’ve got my eye on youe!”
Bauer (as if) sas, “already sucking my wheel?”
Finnie, “They don’t call me the Ass Register fer nuthin!”

Wheelsucker

wrong! they are clearly asking each other when race results will be posted.

dude on right says, sulking and with head down, “can you believe this shit? nothing’s posted yet from yesterday’s event.”

dude on left, taking his glasses off and striking a serious tone, replies, “it’s unbelievable. this is the 1980’s already. you’d think they’d have it figured out by now, eh?”

Lamity Schone

Charlie Isendorf, John Isendorf, Richard Hincapie, John Loener were the most stuck up snobs you could ever come across. Can’t wait for these prics to disappear from the world of cycling

Leon Sealant

lamity never got beyond excitable, that’s why he’s still so bitter after all these years.

either that, or he got made fun of relentlessly for wearing a skid lid helmet.

Wheelsucker

the man to the left of the riders is Pete Senia and the man to the right is Al Toefield. The even is the Empire State games and the rider is the center is Charlie

Sunday morning training crit in some Hicksville office park after we were thrown out of Mitchell Field. That is indeed Vito Perucci walking to the left and his friend Ed with his back to the camera. Looks like Mitch just behind Vito and me right in the middle in red.

Wheelsucker

the one in the middle is Anton Lorenz [Austria] – he talked himself into more races and not paying the entry fee. another strong man.

Wheelsucker

I do believe that is my old mentor Vito Perucci (blue jacket, brown pants) from Westbury New York strolling across the start line. I can’t identify the race venue….

Wheelsucker

I count at least 7 officials on the stage! Haven’t seen that many ever in a single bike race. It’s a pity USAC will screw them also now, so there will be even fewer then ever in future races.

Wheelsucker

back in the old days you got tested for being a dope, not for doping.

if you failed, you had to go sit in the corner and wear a skid-lid helmet.
