With nearly 10 guys in the field, Adler definitely had strength in numbers for this race where they employed repeated attacks off the front. All of those guys are pretty impressive but I am surprised they couldn’t quite pull it together at the end. There were other really strong riders in the field who, if not in a break, would work to bring it back – a brutal recyling of effort.
No break they, or any other team could issue, would really stick, though.
Things got a bit messy in the final 400m with crashes going up cat’s paw. Several riders, including Prensky, lost a few hundred dollars worth of equipment as a result.

Big Win. This kid was a cat 5 two months ago.

How does the WS United rider go from the left most position to bumping the Adler rider out of the sprint?
Good Tactics?
Andy
The WSU rider is well clear of the field in shots 16 to 19. Also appears to hold his line.

True, the WSU rider who won does, but the guy who ends up with his elbow in front (and appears to be on) the Adler’s arm comes from the far left to right in pic 16 vs 19. Is that holding his line? Or is he doing a little “active” blocking?
Andy
Oh, never mind. Didn’t realize you were talking about Johan.

same rider hooking reed (johaan) also caused a crash at the bottom of cats paw. takes out a swath of rider on both sides of him and goes on to sprint for 5th place. nice going asshole. oh, but i guess we are the assholes for asking questions about dirty abdujaparov-style nonsense. the next time this happens, WSU better hope that nobody gets seriously hurt.

And there’s only one way to stylishly deal with a clamp like that:
That WSU rider came clear across the Wonder Wheel guy hit his front wheel I couldn’t believe we weren’t all on the ground!!! That WSU should have been DQ’ed and there is plenty of proof.
