Kissena 2009 Twilight Series, Wednesday (7/1/2009)

Yesterday we decided to take the trip to Kissena to let my son Anthony C., who races for Alliance Environmental, expand his horizon’s and race on a track other than his home track.  He’ll need the experience when it comes time to score upgrade points next year.  His home track is the VPCC in Trexlertown, PA (I’m the official track photographer there, b.t.w.).  Kissena is only 78 miles from my house, but Google Maps says the trip can take as long as 3 1/2 hours with traffic.  We left relatively early, I guess, at 1:30 and arrived by 4:30.  The only real traffic jam was in NJ on I-80 and of course in Manhattan, which is to be expected.

The kid had a great time and loved the track.  He definitely wants to come back soon.  A big THANK YOU goes out to Andrew LaCorte for taking Anthony C. under his wing and showing him the ropes at Kissena.
