Methinks some of his equipment isn’t mass start legal. Good thing they didn’t check.

Jermaine Burrowes wins P/1/2 in break with Lisban Quintero
Wheelsucker
Burrowes and Lisban joined by Gavi, and Empire rider, and one other in a 5 man break for the last few laps.

First, by looking at Olson, I do not see anything illegal with his set up. I dont know him and could care less but do not think deep profile Zipps (808 on the rear I think), a Track Helmet and skinsuit are illegal. I know some top masters guys that race with “disc” wheel covers in mass start events and they are legal as far as I know.
Finally, the guy would have been in that break regardless of his wheel and helmet choices.
Nice Ride to him and his breakaway mates.

The only thing illegal about Olsen is his heart, which is 8 times as soulful as another man’s
Wheelsucker
Those helmets are mass-start legal; same rules apply on the track. Or do you just think his shoe covers are “unnecessary” since it wasn’t raining while he was racing?
Wheelsucker
Are you referring to his backless chamois? Because that is illegal, yes.
Wheelsucker
So what’s up with the dude in the motorcyle helmet?
Wheelsucker
his name is GREG OLSEN, it is not a motorcycle helmet it is a TRACK HELMET, HELLO
Wheelsucker
I believe older versions of that helmet weren’t ansi or snell approved. That’s not the case with the newer models. You guys seriously have to have something better to do than worry about whether Olson’s set up was legal.

I think it’s funny seeing Woody in the background clapping his hands. Too bad he isn’t a sprinter.
Wheelsucker
Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t he win the field sprint in the 2’s at Somerville?
Wheelsucker
No, he won off a two man break that almost got absorbed by the field sprint.
Wheelsucker
Nice moto, er track helmet bro!
Wheelsucker
It’s not a moto helmet.

Burrowes and Lisban in a two man break for several laps. Gavi, an Empire rider, and another bridged up with a few laps to go. Going into the last lap it was a 5 man break.

9:05 was talking about Thomas Wood @ Somerville.
Wheelsucker
Olsen/Olson/Olsson did an in-race interview for CNN on the Madison ave backstretch about the helmet.

the post race buffet at housatonic is reason enough to do that race every year
8:55 asked if Thomas Wood won the field Sprint at Somerville in the 2s. He didn’t. He won off a break.
