anybody know if perkins drive is ridable? what happens if park cops/state cops catch you going up if it’s closed?
haven’t seen Perkins recently. may be mostly clear, but would not be surprised if there were still sections of runoff that have refrozen, due to elevation, untreated roadway, etc. going uphill, you should be able to spot any bad sections well in advance to aviod or stop. I’ve never had an issue with Park employees in the off-season when running into them at the “gate” on the way down before exiting back onto 7 lakes. just don’t assume you have the entire road width on the downhill b/c the gate is closed to traffic, since park employees/vehicles may still be on the road driving up – and they’re not expecting to run into anyone coming the opposite way.
