Off-Topic for 08/07/2009 – 02:10

Welcome to the Tue, 08/07/2009 – 02:10 edition of Off Topic! You are looking at the next step in the evolution of VCN, the Off-Topic page. Have you ever been frustrated because you had a burning desire to call someone a sandbagger and could only hope to be timely by posting your comment to a photo gallery page or on a page describing a charity ride?

Well, your prayers have been answered! You can post your comment from the home page and it magically comes to rest here with the other orphans from the land of Misfit Comments. The page gets refreshed every day, but not to worry! Each day’s page will be archived and treasured, so you can look back on past pages with pride, shame or disgust-depending on how the day’s conversation went. So post away! We’ve got an internet to fill up.

Have you ever seen ANY pro cyclist give a correct weight? All of that coverage is BS, whether they show you their SRM file or not.

10:11 — can you give me a ring? I’d like to write a profile of you for the Jerk Store Journal.

Your lonely boy posts can be distilled into two words: “Mom……MEATLOAF!”

Actually circulation is up. WSJ unlike the rest of the newspaper industry actually knows how to charge for its content.

If you’re gonna complain about being factually correct. At least do the research to be factually correct yourself. Oh and I’ve had your mothers meatloaf, not wonder you’re intellectually stunted.

That was a very poorly written article. Why does her story keep on changing? Speaking of those numbers…I hope they have a correction tomorrow because climbing at 260watts at 120lbs (on not the lightest bike) is not doing to drop everyone in a NRC stage race. Also, 310watts/120lbs for 5min is good….for a mid-level NRC rider.

WSJ & Reed have done her a disservice. If they are going to quote numbers then they should at least do the research to know what the top numbers are.

The data presented makes her look suspicious to those that know physiology and what numbers are necessary to win at the NRC level.

Wheelsucker

yeah i’m sure the WSJ is interested in correcting wattage estimates in a cycling article. go get a life.

Wheelsucker

sensitive. good to know that accuracy doesn’t matter for a financial paper. it was only above the fold on the front page.

just because the lance article was factually incorrect. no, that doesn’t set a precedent for the author of the article….

and they wonder why circulation is down.

the young lady is beating pros, and can probably kick your tail silly too. been up alpine climb in 5 min.-something lately, or won against a top field of nrc pros? yeah, now go shut your pie hole.
