24 hours of philosophical musings later, and i still haven’t squared myself to the idea that the sun can set on any given day without an illustrious COTD accreditation being awarded.
can a “comment of the day” really be a comment of the day if not awarded daily? what does that even mean, then? what if herr schmalz only offers up the COTD(tm) one day in five – doesn’t it become a de facto COTW? is that an upgrade?
if you notice that schmalz is particularly susceptible to historical NYV allusions in his COTD accreditation, and you use that to your advantage, is that fair game? or are you commentastically drafting the historical commenter and wheelsucking by at the last moment for victory? are you just a melted garden gnome standing on the shoulders of the NYV idoterati who have gone before you – nanos gigantum humeris insidentes, as the romans put it?
if you rack up a ton of 1st places (COTDs) and podia (top comments), should you upgrade to a new site?
if you once scored the coveted and extremely rare Quintuple Crown (known by some as the NYV Royal Flush; occupying all 5 top comment spots simultaneously … ohhhh … talk about frisson, my friends), and no one knows it but you, did it really happen?
last night I had a dream … i was on a solo break at FBF, rode through the wind for 5 laps by myself, sprinted through the line, offered up the running man as my salute. when I went to collect my prize money, charlie I said to me, “no dice, kid, not every race has a winner. I’m getting picky.” and then a melted garden gnome jumped out of an apocalypse now set and punched me (that may have been alan.)

I have an old track bike that I am trying the figure out the maker and history of. I have taken it to David over at Bike Works but he has not been able to tell me too much. It has no marks to speak of its maker but it used to have a label. David took pictures and they are on his site at this link:

it’s been april since april. after this past crappy winter, i feel i may go postal if i don’t get some sun
as a result of this rain, my fitness is still total crap from where i was in winter. usually by this time of the year i’m pushing right up there at mediocre.
Out in 08 due to illness, the aussie Michael Rodgers is CHR’s likely GC man. Back in 09 and with his 8th place overall in his 2nd Giro, he is tuned up and looks to be in good form. Big G is awesome, but not a real GC contender at this point. His role is the team’s (and specifically Cav’s) big bro and uber lead out esquire.
(no shame in asking, either. we’re in the off topic section for cryin out loud)
