Welcome to the Tue, 06/15/2011 – 06:00 edition of Off Topic! You are looking at the next step in the evolution of VCN, the Off-Topic page. Have you ever been frustrated because you had a burning desire to call someone a sandbagger and could only hope to be timely by posting your comment to a photo gallery page or on a page describing a charity ride?
Well, your prayers have been answered! You can post your comment from the home page and it magically comes to rest here with the other orphans from the land of Misfit Comments. The page gets refreshed every day, but not to worry! Each day’s page will be archived and treasured, so you can look back on past pages with pride, shame or disgust-depending on how the day’s conversation went. So post away! We’ve got an internet to fill up.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
A 1/3 mile classic four corner crit with very rough pavement on the opening straight. You’ll also need to navigate a few manhole covers rising several inches above the pavement on this section of the course. Entering turn one you’ll need to move far left to avoid crashing into the 10-ton crane anchored on the course. Its painted red so you should not have any trouble seeing it. If you survive all of that, then you can do it some 50 times over.
If I were traveling to this race I would be pissed beyond belief that I schlepped to NYC for this clearly unsafe and perhaps even unusable course.
JDE, what do you say?
the course is getting repaved and will be super fast dick head! please tell me you didnt get an invite anyways???
..and that you didn’t intentionally choose to refer to yourself as a communicable (and sexually transmitted at that) disease.
I hope the course will be great…this is a great event.
Just expressing concern that its Weds and the race in on Sun – assuming 24hrs to cure…that’s not a lot of time to get it race ready.
you r retarded Blair!!!
According to the NYC DOT, unless JDE or the Organic Team are planning to lay down the asphalt themselves, does not look like the City has plans to do it…

I think JDE needs to address these issues.
is your point? no new work will be done, but what about the already unpaved road?
Harlem Race to Prospect Park
Ok, so there is a NYC Gov order that no construction can occur on the course. That’s good. Hopefully the crane will be moved then –
still, the road is milled and unpaved. What’s the plan for that?
Hi Everyone, The north of the course is being re-paved tonight. it’ll be in great shape for Sunday’s race. See you there!
