Off-Topic for 06/02/2009 – 02:10

Welcome to the Tue, 06/02/2009 – 02:10 edition of Off Topic! You are looking at the next step in the evolution of VCN, the Off-Topic page. Have you ever been frustrated because you had a burning desire to call someone a sandbagger and could only hope to be timely by posting your comment to a photo gallery page or on a page describing a charity ride?

Well, your prayers have been answered! You can post your comment from the home page and it magically comes to rest here with the other orphans from the land of Misfit Comments. The page gets refreshed every day, but not to worry! Each day’s page will be archived and treasured, so you can look back on past pages with pride, shame or disgust-depending on how the day’s conversation went. So post away! We’ve got an internet to fill up.

FBF – are deep section wheels (alu/carbon) ok, or ol’ reliable spoked wheels better?

Wheelsucker

thanks for the enlightening comment. i’m simply asking a question. it’s been ages since i was out there, and didn’t know if i should bring aero wheels, which i enjoy riding on, or go with strong, reliable training wheels. i last remember that course/area as having rough pavement and i’m not interested in beating my nice aero wheels to hell. have a nice day, and be sure to pull yer panties out of the bunch they’re in…

Wheelsucker

Bring reliable wheels. Aero wheels will give you an advantage, but if they are delicate leave them at home.

It’s a bit nicer now that the Organics filled the potholes. Thanks again, Organic Athletes!

I’ve never damaged a wheel at FBF, or known anyone who has, but there have been lots of pinch flats that have ruined many races.

Why would you use aero wheels in a weekly training race around CONES in a parking lot

Don’t forget to tape up the vents on your helmet = way fast and aero
