Welcome to the Tue, 04/07/2010 – 02:10 edition of Off Topic! You are looking at the next step in the evolution of VCN, the Off-Topic page. Have you ever been frustrated because you had a burning desire to call someone a sandbagger and could only hope to be timely by posting your comment to a photo gallery page or on a page describing a charity ride?
Well, your prayers have been answered! You can post your comment from the home page and it magically comes to rest here with the other orphans from the land of Misfit Comments. The page gets refreshed every day, but not to worry! Each day’s page will be archived and treasured, so you can look back on past pages with pride, shame or disgust-depending on how the day’s conversation went. So post away! We’ve got an internet to fill up.
Some prefer Jens, other Rambo…

“They weren’t riding at 100%! They were saving their energy all day long. Especially that smurf from Lotto, what was he thinking?,” Eeckhout fumed. “I knew before the start that it wouldn’t be possible [to stay away] but you never know.”

Tour of the Basque Country presented by RadioShack video feed isn’t working.
Might’ve been a bad decision to host the web video feed on a TRS-80.
schelde-YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!

Great day for Garmin!
Great win for Tyler. Although not exactly all-star competition, the confidence can only help.
In general, do sprinters peak at a particular age? Late twenties? Tyler seems like he’s just a notch below the top tier. He’s 25. Is there upside potential still?
Tyler won at 11:01, can we wait at least until noon before saying it wasn’t a quality win?
Tyler is obviously sandbagging and should only be racing against Cav – not in shit races against Greipel.
I’m not suggesting it wasn’t quality win – he beat solid competition by more than a bike length. I’m hoping the confidence he gets will help at a major event. But I wonder if he has the raw talent to be a tier-one sprinter. I’m a fan – I hope he does! Does he need a better leadout? Does he need to develop a little more physically and/or mentally? I don’t know. When is a typical sprinter’s heyday?
