Off-Topic for 01/18/2011 – 02:00

Welcome to the Tue, 01/18/2011 – 02:00 edition of Off Topic! You are looking at the next step in the evolution of VCN, the Off-Topic page. Have you ever been frustrated because you had a burning desire to call someone a sandbagger and could only hope to be timely by posting your comment to a photo gallery page or on a page describing a charity ride?

Well, your prayers have been answered! You can post your comment from the home page and it magically comes to rest here with the other orphans from the land of Misfit Comments. The page gets refreshed every day, but not to worry! Each day’s page will be archived and treasured, so you can look back on past pages with pride, shame or disgust-depending on how the day’s conversation went. So post away! We’ve got an internet to fill up.

“JUST IN: The proposed Bill – first reported by TLS – that would have required bicycles to be registered, has been withdrawn by its sponsor NJ Assemblywoman Cleopatra Tucker (Democrat-Essex). In a statement to TLS, Tucker’s office said, “My intention was never to impose a burden or additional costs. My goal was to at least begin a discussion of how best to protect elderly pedestrians. No idea is perfect, but protecting elderly pedestrians deserves attention.”

Assemblywoman Cleopatra Tucker was getting much criticism for her proposed law, which most found to be a laughing matter”

Floyd and Papp should join Catlin, Damsgaard, WADA USADA IOC, on how to tell a dope/cheat/fraud/liar…

Please please please tell me how Frank Schleck pays Fuentes 7000Euros for chocolate chip cookie recipes, and Basso only intended, but did not actually, dope???

Floyd is correct, the sport can’t be “fixed” in the doping sense, it sure is fixed in every other way, if you are on the inside…

I wonder how many jaywalking/ crossing against the light tix the police will be handing out to the millions of pedestrians who obliviously stride through ‘red hand’ signals all the time, in the parks or in the streets, without so much as glancing to the left or right to see if they’re walking into the path of a cyclist – or a cement truck.
