If you are a local\, you know that this is the third season for the Meaty Beaty. And each year it always manages to please. Whether it’s the fire jumps\, or the “Heartbreak Ridge” watery potential plunge into the Susquehanna – the “Meaty” is always full of thrills and spills! \nFans and support staff are encouraged to sit on our deck\, watch the show\, have a beverage\, and yell encouragement or abuse: based on the riding skill of our participants. \nRider hits a fire-jump with great flair and style? – give that rider a round of applause!\nRider rides around a fire-jump with a cowardly swerve? – Heckle that rider with extreme predjudice!\nRock gardens\, hurtles\, banked turns\, steep banks\, and more are waiting to challenge each rider. \nMechanical support\, Hydration\, Shelter\, Bathrooms\, Music and more is all available on location. Geisinger Sports Medicine Trainers and Doctors are also available to take good care of our riders.

SUMMARY:9th Annual Nittany Lion Cross MAC SERIES Race #1+ #2 also UCI C2 BOTH DAYS
DESCRIPTION:These two races are Events #1 and #2 on the 2014 MAC Series Schedule.  Both days are UCI Class 2 events.  UCI regulations and UCI scale of penalties will apply to the UCI events.  UCI licensed 17-18 Junior Women\, will ride with the UCI Women.  Non-UCI events are held under USAC regulations.  The event complies with the guidelines within the 2014 Mid-Atlantic Cyclocross Series Technical Guide \nCourse Description: This course is mostly eastern grass.  The start is on a paved section which turns to gravel.  The first turn is a sweeping turn to the right.  There is one set of barriers.  The course is undulating.  There is one section that crosses over some tree roots.  The course is 2.9 km in length.

DESCRIPTION:Big Elm Brewing Cyclocross Challenge is back for its 2nd year to help kick off the New England Cyclocross season!  We have events for beginners\, women\, juniors\, elite racers\, masters\, and kids \n\nAll race categories are in reference to your USCF Cyclocross category!! (not your road category).\nthe masters 55+ classes will start 1 minute behind the masters 45+ classes\nMountain bikes (without forward pointing bar ends) are welcome\nBike wash available\nAll riders required to wear approved helmets and shirts with sleeves\nAll USA Cycling rules apply\nQuestions: Email Steffen at bikeandblade@hotmail.com\nAdditional races $10 each. First person to the first turn wins the hole shot prime. The course winds into the woods with a gravel road section leading into a fast left hand sweeper on the grass. From there the course straightens out with a double back up a slight incline. This leads into a technical of camber switch back set of turns which opens up to a fast section before a short burst of a climb. From here the course winds it way to an open service road which leads into some sweeping turns to the first run up\, which is rideable if you have the momentum and traction.  Once through the run up the course winds it’s way to the first set of barriers only to be followed by a 100 foot gravel pit with a set of stairs at the end. More sweeping off camber turned following the base of the ski mountain which bring you back to the start/finish. \nDirections to Ski Butternut in Great Barrington\, MA \nSpringfield 1 hour (49 mi) \nI90 W to Exit 2 Lee\, MA; Rt. 102 W to Rt. 7; Left onto Rt. 7 south to Rt. 23; Left at traffic light onto Rt. 23 east to ski area entrance about 1.3 miles on right. \nHartford 1 hour (51 mi) \nRt. 44 W to Canaan\, CT; north on Rt. 7 into MA where it merges with Rt. 23 as you go through the town of Great Barrington; Continue on Rt. 7N & 23E at traffic light to cross the metal bridge. Just pass the Sunoco station veer right at traffic light onto Rt. 23 east to ski area entrance about 1.3 miles on right. \nDanbury 1 hour\, 15 min. (66 mi) \nRt. 7N into MA where it merges with Rt. 23 as you go through the town of Great Barrington; Continue on Rt. 7N & 23E at traffic light to cross the metal bridge. Just pass the Sunoco station veer right at traffic light onto Rt. 23 east to ski area entrance about 1.3 miles on right. \nNew Haven 1 hour\, 45 min. (83 mi) \n34 west to Rt. 8; Take rt. 8 north to Rt. 44 in Winsted\, CT; West on Rt. 44 to Rt. 7 north; follow Rt. 7N into MA where it merges with Rt. 23 as you go through the town of Great Barrington; Continue on Rt. 7N & 23E at traffic light to cross the metal bridge. Just pass the Sunoco station veer right at traffic light onto Rt. 23 east to ski area entrance about 1.3 miles on right. \nNew York City 2-1/2 hours (128 mi from Manhattan) \nTaconic State Parkway north to Claverack\, NY / Rt. 23 Exit; Take Rt. 23 East through the towns of Hillsdale\, NY then Egremont\, MA and then through Great Barrington\, MA. Continue on Rt. 7N & 23E at traffic light to cross the metal bridge. Just pass the Sunoco station veer right at traffic light onto Rt. 23 east to ski area entrance about 1.3 miles on right.

Tight packs of professional cyclists will sprint around the course and dive into sharp corners at top speed\, inches apart from each other and racing at speeds reaching 40 mph! \nThe Danbury Audi Race4Scholars Criterium is helping to promote women’s racing by offering equal distances and prize money for the Woman’s Feature 1\, 2\, 3 & Pro event. \nWe have included a junior race category to increase access to competitive cycling for the youth in our community. The force behind the event is WHEELpassion’s mission of promoting a healthy lifestyle by getting youth on bikes. \nThe venue offers activities for your kids too – face painting\, and a Kids Bike for Fun. DESCRIPTION:The R&A Cycles Series links the 5 Kissena Sports Prospect Park Series Races into an overall competition for the Masters 40+ and Women fields.  The top 10  finishers in each race will receive points and the rider with the most points at the end of the series will be crowned the 2014 R&A Cycles Series overall champion.  Riders leading the R&A Cycles Series will wear matching race leader jerseys\, bib shorts\, socks\, gloves and caps provided by Champion System.
