SUMMARY:Danbury Audi Race4Scholars Criterium
DESCRIPTION:Join other race fans and spectators on Sunday\, August 17\, 2014 lining the racecourse for the inaugural Danbury Audi Race4Scholars Criterium\, in historic downtown Danbury\, Connecticut. Hundreds of top pros and amateurs are expected to participate and race their bikes around the .6 mile (1K) closed course multiple times – and you’re just inches away from the riders as they hammer around the course. \nYour afternoon downtown gets more exciting when the Pro Women and Pro Men get called to the line\, for two back-to-back high-speed feature events. Tight packs of professional cyclists will sprint around the course and dive into sharp corners at top speed\, inches apart from each other and racing at speeds reaching 40 mph! \nThe Danbury Audi Race4Scholars Criterium is helping to promote women’s racing by offering equal distances and prize money for the Woman’s Feature 1\, 2\, 3 & Pro event. \nWe have included a junior race category to increase access to competitive cycling for the youth in our community. The force behind the event is WHEELpassion’s mission of promoting a healthy lifestyle by getting youth on bikes. \nThe venue offers activities for your kids too – face painting\, and a Kids Bike for Fun. Your future state champion can ride the same racecourse as the pros. \nWhat better way for some\, than to attend a cycling event on your bicycle? When you arrive a Bike Corral will await you. A Bike corral is an area to conveniently park your bike while at an event. (We will not offer a claim check system\, so bring a lock to secure your property.) \nEvent proceeds will help WHEELpassion pursue its mission of advocating for healthy life choices for adolescents and to provide educational opportunities for program graduates.
