Data, Art and the Future of Cycling

June 27, 2015 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Free

On Saturday, June 27th, Strava and the Bicycle Film Festival invite you to join us at noon at the Anthology Film Archives, 32 Second Avenue New York, NY 10003, for a panel discussion titled, “Data, Art and the Future of Cycling.”

The panel brings together a selection of artists, advocates and big thinkers from across the cycling spectrum, including:

*Strava CTO and co-founder Mark Shaw

*Author + New York Times and Rouleur journalist Matt Seaton

*Musician Jaleel Bunton from TV on the Radio

*Artist and filmmaker Cheryl Dunn

*Author and cycling advocate Yvonne Bambrick

*The executive director of Transportation Alternatives, Paul Steely White

Cycling has inspired artists, filmmakers, photographers, writers and musician who have created amazing works for the Bicycle Film Festival during the past 15 years. In turn, their contributions have helped to shape the way we ride and the culture of cycling around the world.

This circle of inspiration that flows between cycling and art has a parallel in the data that Strava athletes record, which they use to help unlock their potential and the potential of their communities.

If you’re in the New York City area, please join us for this spirited discussion and get a glance at where art and data have taken cycling, and where we’re headed in the future. When you attend the panel, you’ll also receive a limited-edition, commemorative Strava and Bicycle Film Festival New York City heat map print.
