2015 Danbury Audi – Race4Scholars Criterium

The Second Annual Danbury Audi – Race4Scholars Criterium will be held in historic downtown Danbury on Sunday, August 16, 2015. Racing starts at 11:00 am.
Last year’s event drew over 315 professional and elite amateur racers from 9 states and from Canada, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Germany and New Zealand.
The course is a classic .6-mile (1K) four corner Criterium. Course characteristics include a long, fast, downward straightaway (start/finish), into a 90-degree Turn 1. There is a slight riser that begins after Turn 2 and ends after Turn 4. Racers will tell you, the course is technical, challenging, spectator-friendly and fast! Expect constant attacks as a breakaway is bound to happen at some point. Join your friends and other top athletes for another exciting day of racing!
The 2015 Danbury Audi – Race4Scholars Criterium will feature a junior category race (for future national champions), one amateur category race (Men’s Category 3/4), one elite amateur race (Men’s Master’s 40+), and two elite amateur/professional races (Women’s 1/2/3 & Pro and Men’s 1/2 & Pro). $10,000 in Total Prize Money!
The Danbury Audi – Race4Scholars Criterium is built on the foundation of advocating for parity in women’s racing by uniquely offering equal distances and prize money for the Women’s 1/2/3 & Pro event. We are listening to your feedback and we are making every effort to continually improve the overall experience for everyone.
The event is free to the public and features vendors, sales and sampling expo space and entertainment for youth and adults. Bring a lawn chair, a camera and join us for another day of family fun. Plan to enjoy lunch of regional cuisine from other countries at one of many restaurants that line the racecourse.
