CRCA/Sakonnet Technology Tucson Report

New York City team CRCA/Sakonnet Technology, has started the year with a January training camp in Tucson, AZ. The 16man squad is mostly a mixture of 2004 SKNT riders and 6 new U25 recruits. Chief among the returning riders are Lee Rosenthal, Andy Guptil and Robbie Giannini who will again lead the team in the general classifications of multi day stage races. "Like last year I’m in form very early in the season and I am looking forward to the San Dimas Stage Race, Redlands and Sea Otter," said Rosenthal who hails from Massapequa Long Island.

The training camp was held January 12th thru the 16th in sunny Tucson weather. The days featured long rides, which ranged from a short 4hrs on the first day to a mammoth 7hr / 132mi ride on the third day. At night the team was given media training classes and learned the ins and outs of Sakonnet Technology’s business conducted by SKNT’s CEO Thurstan Bannister. Closing out the successful camp was a Saturday night BBQ hosted by Adam Weisman and Rebecca Taylor of Velo la Source Cycling Adventures with cooking duties deftly handled by SKNT’s Professional Duathlete Lee Sossen.
