A break of eight got away on the 3rd of 22 laps containg King, Bremer, Sommerville, and Zmolik, and quickly put a minute plus on the field. Boronow, Settel, and a few others chased, but in the end the field was splintered and finished in small groups. Final podium was Zmolik, Sommerville, and King.
We’ll have pictures from Marco and several other photographers soon.
1. Daniel Zmolik (Cuevas)

ya’ll putting up pics of the cat 5 races withnin an hour of the finish, but no P123???
Where the stinkin’ Amstel Gold pics?
I told Jeff King he would not place, too windy for a sprinter, the race will break to bits, can’t hide in the field, 50 hard fought miles. JT overhead and agreed.
My next prediction is he will not place at Bear Mountain.
Since when is 3rd place not placing? From the break no less. Meee-high, step away from the liquid paper.
Mihael — I thought you were talking about another local sprinter who has such a big fan club/posse I’m afraid to say his name anymore, lest his team think I’m dissing him.
I love these questions every week about "missing" photos from this field or that race.
It’s like when you go to a very opulent wedding reception. At the dinner, course follows course, each one better than the previous. Steak, lamb, turkey, ham, more steak, salmon, lobster even, with great pasta and rice and vegetables cooked beautifully.
And as the waitstaff comes out to ask if you want tea or coffee with desert, you realize the meal is nearly over and you blurt out indignantly "What! No shrimp?!!?"
JT, my bad, I assumed since you were there, and I was talking to Jeff and his team mates and told him that he would not place, we were on the same frame of thought. But I think I know the sprinter you are talking about, I won’t mention his name either.
OK, so Jeff can ride in long hard breaks beating seasoned cat 1 racers, and also win field sprints. But there is no way he can even finish a race like Bear Mountain. He is simply to big and does not have the slow twitch muscle fibers required to climb well. (response to Jeff’s comments on some other part of this crazy site). Yes, Jeff, I double dare you.
I have the Bikereg website up and am soooo close to hitting enter…
Jeff, I finally read your interview, so now it makes sense with your Belgian cat 1 experience you can ride the wind, but you can’t hide in the hills. Hit the button and lets see who is right.
