There are two local races this weekend, exactly two.
Saturday there’s the R&A Cycle Series race in Prospect Park.
Sunday is the CRCA Orchard Beach Crit.
It is a day for lazy internet editors to rejoice.

The parks department just sent out a press release:
“To enhance the racer experience at the R&A series in Prospect Park this weekend we will be adding a second wood chipper on the course. Both will be moving at random times creating an element of the unknow. Although we can not confirm right now, we have invited ConEd to bring in a Manhole crew to set-up shop approximatly 350m from the finish. More details to follow.”
In a world where the line in the sand is always moving, at what time today will CRCA add day of registration to Orchard Beach?

the crca created that masters 1-3 field at bear to appease all 17 of the masters who signed up for it! the numbers don’t lie, the 4/5 field was the way to go apparently. care to comment now, suter? where is your pie chart for this?

Sorry to interrupt all the hate this weekend.
I didn’t see the first race nor did I stay for the last one. But the rest of the day went nearly perfectly. Had I won it would have been perfect. CRCA staff put in a lot of hours and deserves a lot of credit. 650 racers to deal with and the races went off on time and results finalized quickly. Thanks for giving us a great day.
Orchard Beach was fantastic
