Grrrrr
I can hardly believe that it’s Friday already, where did the time go? And since I’m a lazy and grumpy person today, I’m just going to post the links that are from the events listing below.
There’s the Grand Fondo New York on Sunday and the Rumble in the Jungle on mountain bike on Sunday also, there’s races in almost every other city on the Eastern Seaboard this weekend, but you will just have to find out about them your own damn selves.

Where is the FBF site, standings, etc? The ad on NYVelocity for FBF is linked to the 2011 series/results and the link on the Kissena site is dead. Seems sorta AVDish….unless I am a luddite.

Wilmington (DE) GP on Saturday for the pros (they also have a GF on Sunday), Tour of Syracuse Road Race on Sunday. BikeReg has become a virtual calendar for races in the NE, so check it out there.
So glad they went with mixed categories. Nothing safer than a crit with 109 riders. Anyone remember licking the hay bails at Iron Hill?
Numbers on the left or right?
What happened to Roger Aspholm since his Mtn XC crash? he done racing for good.. a shame if so.
Roger did his first road race since crash just last weekend @ Hunter
for all CRCA Races this year.
With Foundation doing the square races this weekend, the team cup is back up for grabs
Be getting their asses handed to the this weekend in the square races….you heard it hear first. No BS park racing straight wattage…with a little bit of the good stuff to keep you on the rivit.
No Tour de Parc this year? What’s the story? I don’t see it on Bikereg and it’s usually this weekend.
the city decided they didnt want bike racing at the venue anymore. the unfortunate reality of bike racing in and around nyc
The Tour de Parc will no longer take place. After 27 consecutive years, the Nassau County Dept of Parks and Recreation informed me last November that Cedar Creek Park would be undergoing renovations and when completed permits to use the main roadway would no longer be issued. It’s very sad because it was the last big race on Long Island and a sad reminder how fragile our local race scene is.

Reason #142 why Long Island sucks.

SUNY old westbury is out of the question still?
where is long island?
i’ve heard of that place.
too bad that was a nice race.
I contacted SUNY Old Westbury 2 years ago about having a race there again (racing took place there every Tues, Thur and Sun in the late 70’s and early 80’s, last year was 1981 I believe). I was told the fee to hold the race would be approx $6k and the race would have to be the Sunday of any holiday weekend which in the summer only leaves Memorial Day and Labor Day. I went ahead and submitted the application but it was denied because I asked to reserve the closing for a minimum of 2 hours (I thought I needed at least that amount of time to have a few races). I actually just contacted them again last week to revisit the idea and I’m waiting for their reply.
If anybody knows any potential race venues on Long Island I would be happy to follow up. You can email me at cibike@aol.com

Let the bodies hit the floor. Saw 4 wounded Gran Fundies from 3 different incidents. Not even on the tricky parts. Just sayin’
10 seperate crashes during the fifth stage of the 2011 TDF. Just sayin’
i’d say that’s a fair comparison
