It’s looks like it will be a lovely weekend for bike racing, so let’s twist back the lid of the internet’s sardine can and see what happening.
Saturday there’s a CRCA club race in Central Park, and I would advise you to get there at the last minute so I can manage to get a spot in the field before it closes out. The CRCA women’s Dev 3/4 series will be happening Saturday also.
A bit farther out, there’s the Watermelon Crit in Piscataway, NJ on Saturday.
On Sunday, there’s the CRCA FBF road race presented by Lucarelli & Castaldi at Floyd Bennett Field, there’s no day of registration for this event, but information is here.
Finally on Sunday, there’s a Kissena Women’s Track Clinic at the Kissena Velodrome.
also depends upon how long it has been raining
Mitt – I’ll try running lower psi.
First – gotcha! And yes, totally unfair, I know…
You forgot to include the link for the Lucarelli&Castaldi race at Floyd, so you lose your podium spot today. Sorry Schmalz.
First through a DQ on Velocity. A first.
The link’s there, check your rule book:

What PSI do people ride when the conditions are wet/slick in Central Park?
Depends on weight. Dry Conditions –
Tire Width=20: Pressure(psi) = (0.33 * Rider Weight in lbs) + 63.33
Tire Width=23: Pressure(psi) = (0.33 * Rider Weight in lbs) + 53.33
Tire Width=25: Pressure(psi) = (0.33 * Rider Weight in lbs) + 43.33
For wet weather I usually drop about 10psi. I’m 170, normally run 110psi. In wet weather I’ll run 100psi.
Those high psi formula #’s are ridiculous.
Try 95lbs as a 170 lb rider. I’m 20 lbs heavier than you and never break 100. Never. At east not unless on the track using track tubulars which can get cranked up pretty high (130-ish or so).
You’d be amazed how nice & smooth it feels. No pinch flats either, in spite of the usual gamut of NYC crappy roads.
Crazy slick out there this morning. The sound of carbon sliding across pavement is stuck in my head.
The K3 MARRIAGE VISA is a ‘non-immigrant’ visa
which implies that your wife will not be a permanent resident when she arrives in the United States but would nonetheless
have to apply for an adjustment of status.
