After last week’s religious observances, it’s time to get down to some mightiness observances this week. Let’s check the schedule and see where these miracles may occur.
On Saturday, there’s the final race of the Trooper Brinkerhoff Memorial Race Series in Coxsackie (and not one hack-y Coxsackie joke made this year), NY.
Also on Saturday is the 2013 Cherry Blossom Challenge at Branch Brook Park in Newark, NJ.
Sunday has three events, locally there’s the Spring Series Race in Central Park. A bit farther out is the 2013 Outdoor Sport Center Bethel Spring Series – Criterium de Bethel in Bethel, CT. And out in Jersey there’s the Ronde Van Mullica Road Race in Mullica Township.
I am going to try to win one or more of the above-referenced races.
This means racing redhook is illegal
BKill is still sanctioned by USAC
it’s only illegal if you buy a UCI license
First!
Battenkill Pro/Am (USAC races) online registration closes today.

believe it or not, multiple people have the same name. if there’s no way to connect the name and a license number, there’s nothing they can do. an unsanctioned race won’t have any access to your license number, and thus there’s no way to track who the eff was actually in the race.
OK, what’s this about?

Sounds like something from ‘Game of Thrones’.
“Forbidden” races…
I blame the new Pope.
Is Tuesday Floyd a UCI race?
FBF is haute category
How can some clown in Colorado tell me what to do on my bike?!
I will race what the fuck I want to race and I don’t care what they have to say. I am not property of USAC and I do this for fun.
This culture of corporatism and business coercion must cease. Let the banks fail. It is time for a regime change!
All hail the free spirit!
They are enforcing the rule for USAC license holders as well.
No, they are not, only UCI license holders.
You have to draw the distinction between a domestic license and a UCI license. There is a very big difference. You don’t have anything to worry about if you are racing prospect, central park, branch brook, FBF. Many of the “teams” we have in the area are drastically different than pro UCI teams. Remember that the team you are most likely on is really a club or falls into a club’s sub team. Just because you mimick a pro rider to a T doesn’t mean you get that status.
“… which prohibits all UCI licensed riders from competing in events that are not sanctioned by a national federation.”
Palla Cable, I don’t think USA Cycling or UCI cares about a career Cat 4. You can race all the Freds on 9W. Go have fun!
You aren’t the boss of me.
This has a big impact on mtn and cox pros.
Cross pros. He he.
1. Michael Margarite (Stan’s NoTubes p/b Proferrin)
2. Andrew McCullough ( MT Borah / Minerva Design)
3. Jesse Walker ( CRCA/Setanta)
if it’s an unsanctioned race, there’s little to no tracking of who participates, so there’s little to no way for uci, usa cycling, or your significant other to even know you participated.
you nutjobs will be so anxious to see you finished 23rd and insist on results and get yourselves busted. you know it’s true.
I’m more interested in seeing that Joe M. finished 24th.
joe who?
Joe Cool.
You mean, like aside from results posted and all that…
