Saturday and Sunday bring the final rounds of the Lucarelli & Castaldi Cup at Prospect Park. For the Saturday race there are still openings for Cat 4s. Online registration for the Sunday race closes 5 p.m. Saturday. Double points for overall, sprint, and KOM competitions.
Long Meadow Road in Tuxedo Park, NY, is the site of the Long Meadow Time Trial on Saturday. The gated community will be forever associated with clothes, as its founder, a tobacco heir, reputedly invented the black tie. The CRCA Club ITT will be held as part of the event. Online registration is closed but race day registration may be available.
On Sunday the Tokeneke Classic Road Race in East Hartland, CT, marks the major out-of-town event this weekend. Online registration closes today at 11 p.m. As of this morning, only the Men’s Cat 4 and Men’s Cat 4/5 men were filled.

Where can we find pictures and the video of the finishes from Prospect? Do they get posted anywhere?
Also, the pics from FBF on Tuesday were never posted.
Are you complaining?
You seem to forget that having photographers at our races is a privilege, not an entitlement.
ALSO, PICTURES
For $35 a race you should get ten 8×10 glossies, five 3×5 shots, 2 wallet sized photos, a keychain, a mug and a “greenscreen” shot of you with the Marco Female Distraction of your choice.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rykCd1egqYk
First off, some people, like me, would like to buy some of those photos. I thought that was why they post them on the site in the first place. I’m super appreciative of the guys that come out to shoot the races and am looking to support their efforts. Thats the reason I’m asking.
As for the videos of Prospect, they shoot those regardless to record the finish, but sometimes its cool to watch how a race ends. That is if someone posts it.
So, anyway – if anyone knows the photographer who shot FBF on 8/3/2010, please post it, as I’m interested in what he shot, etc. Thanks.
If you can offer all that for $35 in NYC I’ll be sure to participate in every race you put on.Until then show just a little appreciation.

Funny they don’t mention if granny was crossing on a red light. That she didn’t want to press charges makes me think that was the case.
a person can’t file charges if they’re at fault to begin with.
No matter who’s at fault, to the dude that hit her and took off, may you rot in hell you spineless chicken shit.
KARMA WILL GET YOU SOMEDAY.
There’s an ambulance and an off-duty EMT around why should he remain?
You self-righteous fucks kill me, always the fullest of shit!
MAY YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW!
KARMA WILL GET YOU SOMEDAY TOO BIGMOUTH!
Hey “Dude,” it looks like it was a hit & run. Try reading the article. Here:
“Another cyclist, an offduty EMT, helped Shack into an ambulance while the rider that struck her took off.”
Honestly, if someone doesn’t have the moral backbone to stick around and sort things out with police after clocking a 73 year old woman while at speed on a bike, then what a sad statement on that person. What a sad statement in general.
A good friend of mine was struck by someone, a hit & run by the way, by a local kit-clad cyclist. Serious, life-altering injuries were sustained. So this kind of thing hits close to home.
No go back to your evening diatribe.
don’t forget, this is coming from THE POST. they embellish everything. the last exclusive they had on a cycling-related incident, was when the NY POST reporter, reportedly drunk, CHASED DOWN A CYCLIST AND HIT HIM, driving with him clinging onto the windshield, then sped off. They only way they caught him was b/c witnesses noticed his license plate had the “AP” reporter distinction on it.
accidents happen, you can’t tell anything from one article. ny post is so bad its *almost* worse than the ny times.
that being said, waaaay too many idots pacelining at the wrong times in CP. ridic. and its not just the pro freds, plenty of local team kits in that mix most nights. if you can’t stop / avoid someone crossing against the red, you’re going too fast. pedestrians dont just materialize out of thin air.
There is no excuse for a hit and run. He should have stuck around to make sure everyone got the correct story. It is pretty cowardly to hit some and then take off. Even if the person you hit is at fault.
Somehow I doubt the person who hit the woman is a seasoned racer. Anyone who has been riding, and training, in the park knows that after 8am on a weekend you can’t really do more than take a very easy cruise in the park. There are too many clueless pedestrians and cyclists to make it a safe place to ride at speed.
If that had happened in a race, and the guy had stopped, I would have totally attacked. Just like the horses.
Are people on this website actually defending a guy who hit a pedestrian and took off? There is nothing funny about this and it is conceivable that the Dept of Parks will put restrictions on bike riding and racing in Central Park.
