So who has the real scoop on the Sherry/Harris led ditching of Merrill Lynch to set up a new elite and sub-elite team? Whats to become of the team next year? Who would lead it? Inquiring minds…

True, but work makes it tough to get out of the city for weekend races – I had to bail on both Union Vale and Capital District due to work obligations.

Personally, I just want to upgrade to 4 so I can race Bear in the Spring.

Yeah, we all know races when other people are tired don’t really count. The last stage at Fitchburg, Burlington crit, the Champs-Elysees — only a punk would try to win those. It’s totally unfair to take advantage of other racers like that, when they’re tired and all. I remember one time I did this race and right at the end, when I was tired, one of the other guys sprinted past me and won. I went up to him afterward and called him a punk to his face. There’s no way he would have beaten me if I wasn’t tired, and he knew it.

Lee3 – According to the parks department there is no distinction between the walk/jog and bicycle lanes. Their view is the markings are old and do not mean anything and consider it one lane for all non-car traffic to use.

Just because they’ve pulled the rule change for now, doesn’t mean they’re going to let up on cyclist for the time being, I think they’re just realizing the 1st Amendment implications of their rule change. They’re still going to ticket us for small infractions like running reds in central park.

Re: pronounciation of NYVelocity, I’ve heard it both ways (Velocity and Velo City); it’s a play on "bike city," of course, and velocity being speed. I’m on the team and used to pronounce it Velo City, but I’ve switched to Velocity, for what it’s worth.

Not only did he win fitchburg, but he won the following crca points race on Harlem Hill which by the way he crushed everyone winning every sprint including the one on the line.

You’ve got real class calling him"tattoo" and talking the weakest shit about him, its a real testiment to who you are as an individual and a racer. Velocity is all about talking shit, but this crap about Rashad is just untrue and wrong.

Talk shit, the fact is you know he’ll stomp you on a climb or sprint, this weekend or any other.

There’s only one true way to settle this, see you at the races suckers!

apologies to the veolicty cru for insinuating this, I read it during my 4:30am race monrning routine, i was still a bit out of it.

This site is great for looking at pics, reading the reviews etc. but when people post anonymously and hack apart good people, (and continue to push and push the stupidity) in the end it hurts the website. I dig the forums, but if you have nothing better to do than come up with excuses like wheel sucking, or you were too tired or even better "I’m a cat2" (with issues) its pretty meager, and it degrades the quality of our local scene.

Well…..not quite spit out in as much as getting caught behind the Edgemont/velocity crash on lap three. I just did feel like spending the next lap chasing/recovering. I was back there licking my wounds after getting involved with that chase earlier. I was having a blast of a good time up until then. Thank god no one was hurt bad.

At the left hander going into the base of Horse S*** alley the road narrows. Etsu (Velocity) looked like he was getting nudged outward. Greg C. (edgemont) was on his right and they touched. Greg wobbled a bit but looked like he was gonna save it. Etsu was wobbling a bit but he also looked like he could pull out of it. Then out of nowhere from the left, a wheel in front of both of them there was this century rider that was completely losing it. I dont how, it didnt look like anyone touched him. This rider wobbled violently in front of both Etsu and Greg, mind you this is all happening while the peleton is riding a left hander. Etsu basically t-boned the century rider and went down hard, I think he slid about 3ft. Greg landed on top of him and was tangled up in the 3ft horshit slide with the 2 others. I was on the outside right of this whole affair preparing to bunny hop the curve and wound up unciipping and dismounting to go around. The peloton was already hitting the right hander as I jumped back on the bike. I had no impetus to chase back on.

I took a couple good pulls in the beginning of the race to help bring Mo and that other rider back. Every now and then you gotta go to the back to regroup and recover. Atleast I do. It just so happens I got caught licking the wounds.
Etsu’s frame looked good. His left shifter was turned inward a bit but that was it. He was covered in the horsey’s calling card though.
Work and having to move mid-season has taken its toll on my training. I never really hit a good peak this season. I was on track up until the end of May – things went down hill from there. Racing has been fun but the results are dismal.

Adler = doing OK this year, are you?

Francesco is a good racer. He has placed well in Cat. 3 sprints, and showed a decent TT at the Owasco SR. You all know, or should know, what it can be like stepping up in Category in mid-season. Any other Cat. 4/"B" level CRCA sub-teams have enough results this year to move guys up, beside Adler?
