Prospect Park P-1-2-3 results are in…
It was a five man breakaway…gone for roughly 1/2 the race. Tony of Zephyr got popped from the breakaway with about 2 laps to go…so it was down to 4 guys in the breakaway…the 4 guys were Fraklin Burgos, Leigh Sorrells, Stephan Dioslaki and Rapheal Meran…coming around with around a 1/2 mile to go, Burgos jumped and got a gap….Dioslaki closed it…then Meran jumped but Leigh closed it…heading closer to the line, it was Leigh then Dioslaki then Meran and then Burgos…Dioslaki jumped hard to go for it with less than 1/4 mile to go…Meran was the only one that was able to maintain contact…coming in to the line it was Dioslaki slightly ahead of Meran…then side by side with Meran…and then at the last moment a bike throw and it was Meran that took the win…so it ended up:
Rapheal Meran of Mengoni in first
Stephan Dioslaki of Metra in second
Franklin Burgos in third
Leigh Sorrells of Fioradifrutta in fourth

If anyone’s got pictures or a video of the finish line…please post them…

blueberry lovah

great roads, friendly drivers. jason and the boys down at pro pedals always put on a good race.

on a random note, hammonton happens to be the blueberry capital of the *world*, mind you, not just the garden state. bring the kids to some of the u-pick ’em farms.

Arnaud Torque

How does one become the blueberry capital of the world? Is there a governing body? Verification? How do Hammonton blueberries hold up against Polish blueberries?

blueberry lovah

yeah, right. polish blueberries. what a f’cking joke. plenty of former eastern bloc farmers using autologous juicing, and genetic modification. things come out looking like violet beauregarde, for chrissake. even the GIPPER acknowledged the pineys’ rightful claim to blueberry world capital*. this scene is getting real tired with all you hammonton haters out there…

* look it up.

That is one of the funniest things I have seen on this site! But of course I hope there are NO crashes tomorrow! Good humor though!

Duder

I think they’re referring to the saddle sore that I get every year around now from riding way too much.

Maxence Bartape

Dave Chomo, GO KICK BUTT out there!
…and SF(aka Kit thief), I can’t wait to hear you getting pulled out before the first time check!

Titouan Seatpost

A race
Loehner, solo

B race
Some dude you should upgrade

c race
some newbe who has Olympic golds in some other sport

Womens race
The only woman who does not stop to help after all the crashes

William Grips

10:01 were you watching this on Versus or sitting mid pack with a micro phone on – disturbing level of detail

Matteo Brakepad

I’ll take that as a compliment….the reason I only was able to report on the top 4 places is because I was in the breakaway myself….thus the vivid blow by blow write-up. By the way…Kudos to Leigh Sorrell…the guy rides like an animal and a true pro!!!

Raphael Axle

off to hospital after someone went down after hitting the divot in the road around the S turn by the pool.

B cup again?

Kinda biased against us poor aging souls who will never reach the joyous heights of the A Field.

Why does CRCA hate competition?

Mumfoso Ratchhead

banned because the teams competing couldn’t play nice?

It had nothing to do with competition (or a lack thereof) but rather to do with teams behaving badly.

If there was a post ‘A’ champ fight (painful to think of those spindly arms slapping at each other) would the same action have been taken?

Michael Green

There is a B Team Cup as there has been for years. The club has not regularly held a B Championship race and decided not to this year. Holding a B Championship race last year was the anomaly.
Today’s race counts for the B Cup.

BK

the A race recap on CRCA seems a bit off. Gavi was in a break for a couple of laps with JLo i believe but then got caught with a couple to go. then on the final lap, Gavi attacked at the bottom of HH, and Ingraham, Shaw, Borgia & Stevens followed. Shaw dropped off soon after and the rest stayed away until the finish where the bunch caught all but Gavi and Ingraham. Congrats to Gavi.

competitor

there’s a masters club champs race tomorrow for the aging. if you are racing B’s and not of masters age, then your desire for a “championship” is like wanting a “finsher” medal.

Enzo Ceramic

What was the story? How did 5 end up in hospital? A lot of mud slinging on the women for their crash a couple of weeks ago, so I suspect they will have a few choice words for the B riders this week.

Was it a Velocity rider causing the problem again?

Not suprised

That CRCA rider is consistantly dangerous to be near. He’s damn near taken me out at FBF on numerous occasions. Rumor is, he broke a collarbone this morning. I don’t want to wish that on anyone, but I hope he’s learned a lesson.

At least it’ll be possible to finish out the season without having to avoid him.

crashy mc crasher

who caused the crash was a problem all race. from the gun to the crash, he was riding aggressively while just sitting in the pack. wtf was that about? if he is hurting from the crash, he has only himself to blame, unfortunately, he took out some innocent riders.

he needs to calm down, learn how to ride in a group politely, or take up another sport- like ultimate fighting. personally, i wish he leave the CRCA and step into the ring.

bikeslob

ended for the B field last year when someone thought it would be fun to throw a bike at another racer. he missed.

bikeslob

there’s always someone better, isn’t there? i suppose if you were an A-Field rider you could say a B-Cup is a contest for the tallest midget, and if you were racing for a Pro Continental team, you could say the same for the A-Cup.

btw- it’s ironic that the quickest lap time from today’s CRCA races came from the B-Field. just sayin’…

Axel Clearcoat

if you B-lieve the Bs did a 13 flat and not something in the 14s you are retarted…
think aBout it, the next laB after the suBBosed 13:00 was 15:00, really??? extremely unlikely that they decide to go 4 mph avg speed slower in the middle of that race…
just saying…

Congratz to the winners and hard working fair playing racers, prayers with the casualties of excitable bike handlers…people calm th ef down…or go to a coaching session that is FREE for CRCA club members…

Tootsie

There is always someone better. In this case, with regards to the club championships, it’s the A racers.

in context

you win, you are in the best field in a club race in the CRCA. and in regards to bike racing, you’re still a midget racing other midgets who don’t get paid because you aren’t good enough.

Loic Post

A good result in any cat/field should be celebrated. 99.999999…% of us will all cat up to pack-fill sooner or later.

On that note, I’m gonna change my fb profile pic. to the one of me winning the C’s on my hoods, in my Pearl Izumi Ultrasensors.

Quentin Seatpost

That these same arguments go on and on year after year between the Cs Bs and As. Its like ground hog day around this site.

Moran

If you are going to call someone a retard, learn how to spell the word, retard. I was in the break, and you’re right, the time was off. We did a 12:59 according to my computer.

Diego Hammer

troll racing, midget racing, B racing…lets go back to handicaps and running events…no aero gear in running that I am aware?
run, swim, events. see you at the next SOS event…

Paul Kersey

mmmm, I love retarts. Especially peach retarts, with creme fraiche, the way Axel’s mom makes them after I’m done giving her the daily stuffing.

dr. dick

here is the definition of “Retart” in the urban dictionary,

2. Retart

A morons way of saying RETARD…

Matteo Brakepad

same question from racer…..Where is that “off topic” forum that has pics from the Saturday Prospect Park race?

Martin Plug

If you guys bothered to click on “OFF TOPIC” you would see an empty forum BUT you just might get the urge to hit the “PREVIOUS” button, you know, just to see what happens. Behold! A previous forum! Now, emboldened by your actions and feeling pretty good about your discovery, you decide to read the previous forum to see what secrets it holds and then you find THIS!-

Further proof that the people who comment on this site are under 40. Yet, it would not be a huge surprise that they are under 20. Can you add age verification to this website?

not yet old

no one wants to look at pictures of old people doin’ stuff. not even old people. i mean, it’s gross.

Siebe Lorica

it was a last lap break of 4 that stayed away- gavi, ingraham, james, borgia – with field closing right at the end
