Hopeful Friday 3/28/2008

Section head text.

I’ve been out of the loop for a while, but I’m just going to assume that we will have the same spring slate of park circuits. CRCA and Branch Brook on Saturday, with the Spring Series and Bethel on Sunday. This has to be considered the high season for park racing, which, of course, we all know doesn’t mean anything as the real racing begins in July or is Upstate or in a time trial somewhere. Nevertheless, if you win this weekend, just be advised that it doesn’t mean anything. Your girlfriend loses a toe. Life is toil. Enjoy your weekend!

So who is going to be the king of CRCA this season?

– Does the aging President Harris (Adler) possess the leadership skill to motivate his new team to reclaim his post atop the Boyd Standings?

– Has the mild winter help

No one’s forcing you to start in March, just be warned that some people start racing in February and they’ll be way more fit in May/June/July

How about you? will you be there? need a wake up call? CRCA will pay you for the cab fare. My teammates also say they won’t show up unless photographers are there 😉

I own many mirrors

Make me beautiful. I shaved my legs and I will wear my best lycra to show off my monster physique.

I did Kirkwood last year and loved it – great race, no traffic oncoming to speak of, and well run in a nice place. Cant go wrong in my book. Plenty of room on the road in my experience.

What is this “room on the road” BS wussy comment? Ever watched a spring classic? That’s part of the race!

Ryan Pettit is one of the best new racers around. I assume he is talking about Capala. Pettit is my favorite to win Battenkill Cat3s. He will be a Cat2 by June as he wins almost everything he enters. I love that he taunted Capala (assuming its him)…

Captain Ed

There were two guys in the break whining about Ryan pullin’ too hard and askin’ him to slow down. WTF? He was gesturing at those two guys. And you’re right, he’s a beast; he basically wins at will in Cat 3 and will be in Cat 2 very shortly, probably right after Battenkill.

ME and ME and only ME

Drank a good race this Morning and they didnt crash…Yeayyy
Pictures>>> where are they?
I gave AVD my Dollar
and while at it where are the pictures from next week.

“I managed to take the sprint out of the break for a nice victory. I do want to clarify one thing though. When I sprinted away and turned around, it was to taunt, not gonna lie.”

So he surges in the break – which is fair and legal, and his break partners complain – which mean he’s getting to them. He then wins the race and decides to taunt them as he crosses the line? Is there a Barry Bonds Classiness award we can give him?

I’ll remain annonymous but I was in the 6 man break and yes Petit, Capala and another team rider were going back and forth like husband and wife. I actually found it hillarious. But at the end of the day he was the stronger rider. I do agree with his idea of and I quote, “You want me to pull nice and easy everytime so you can stay fresh? I think not. I ramped it up a little bit every time I got to the front, yes. Catch-up or sit-in”. I agree with his comment, at the end of the day the best man won. If he puts the effort in to train (and it clearly shows he is doing his homework) he shouldnt be subjected to hold back just because guys cant hold his wheel. The sprint basically came down to who would jump first. No one had the extra kick to catch the guy smart enough to jump first, in that split second im sure everyone realized that and took it to the line and held on to there position.

Man up, take a L and train harder and learn to suck wheel if you have to.
