Tomb laps

This weekend’s racing destinations would make and odd shaped quadrangle over the map of the tri-state area. Saturday has the official first big race, the Grant’s Tomb Criterium at, well, if you can’t figure it out, you may not be smart enough to race bikes. Saturday also has a race at Branchbrook.

Sunday is the Spring Series in Central Park and another notch in the Bethel Spring Series. On Sunday afternoon, you can sit  down and learn fastness by going to the Allen Lim forum.

for GT….

Tomorrow’s a great day for NYC racing. Beautiful venue, spectator friendly, lotta racers and racing. One of my favorite races in the area.

Going to be cold for the lowly cat 4’s at the start, but it’ll warm up during the day and be a lot of fun. Good luck to everyone.

If it’s a field sprint, look at the recent results in the park race finishes to give you an idea what 3s will win.

If it’s a break, look for the fittest guy in March to take it.

The winner will not be a Cat 4. If it is, I will eat my chamois.

One armed wave (winning at Tirreno Adriatico) is so much classier than the typical two arms seen at so many of our little park races.

“classier”. That is funny. You need to be pretty far away from the sport to still think it is a classy sport. Fun.. yes. classy, no. This sport is full of high school dropouts doped up to their eyeballs who do nothing but ride and sleep. But yeah, he only raised one arm so he is much classier than the real professionals who race bikes on the weekends for fun and raise both arms when they win a race.

Is head cheese classy? If so, then my lunch is the Jesus of classy, cause, ya know, Jesus is super classy.

I’ve used the tufo tape, and I don’t think you have to remove the old glue. I wold hope their website says something about this. The tufo is very convenient, I have gone back to glue though, as it’s impossible to get the tufo glue off your rim once it’s on.

I tried chilled chicken jelly, no ham in the house. I tried Boars Head brand head cheese, neither worked very well. Maybe Hormel would’ve worked better.

In all seriousness, the Tufo website, such as it is offers no technical info about the tape ( that I can find) other than a short video about installation. Any other advice from repeat users of the tape wouldbe appreciated.

Andy can tell you, when he gets back to his computer. He’s used the tape a long time. And no, I don’t know what he’s doing right now….

you also get to look very pro and exotic when your friends come over and admire your hand-swen exotic composite hi-pressure cellar-aged bicycle tubes notwithstanding the leopard print thong racing outfit

garmin to tell them Cav goes too long in his sprint, and if only Farrar could hold Cav’s wheel he would be able to come around…

The drug dealers will hook you up, and even hold the door open when you come in with your bike. I love living in Harlem.
