where’s A&D?!?!?
Sorry for the delay everyone, Josh here filling in for A&D. Andy and Dan decided to use some of those rollover vacation days without telling anyone. Here is some info on what is happening in the race world this weekend:
The Lucarelli & Castaldi Cup will take place this Saturday, April 21, in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park. Races start at 6:15AM. Former Giro d’Italia winner, former Pro World Road Champion and three-time Paris-Roubaix winner Francesco Moser will be competing in the Pro/1-2-3 race at this Saturday’s opening round of the Lucarelli & Castaldi Cup. When asked what he thought his chances are in the race Moser said "I can hold anyone’s wheel for 44 miles". Rumor has it Ariel Mendez-Penate plans to take him up on that challenge. Either way, this is not one to be missed. Info here
Also on Sat, there is a CRCA race with a West 96th st finish. Per the CRCA President, only 100 riders in the A & B field will be allowed and 75 person field limit for the Cs, so make sure you set your alarms properly and get there early. It also marks the start of the Women’s Development 3/4 Series, presented by the fantastic Mr. Bart, aka Bike Doctor NYC. Info here
For all you anti-social clock obsessed people who care more about wind than any grown human should, there are two time trials in NJ on the coast, one on Sat in LBI and one on Sun in Cape May. Details are here:
Sat in LBI: here
Sun in Cape May: here
(side note, if you go to the one in Cape May, be sure to check out the zoo down there. As far as zoo’s go, its pretty spectacular. There is a recent write up at GetOutsideNJ.com here along with pics here
Sunday brings a TT at FBF as part of the NYC SS. Info here, and god bless if you go: here
Also on Sun, there is a clinic at Kissena for the ladies which looks to be on the verge of sold out if you need a loaner bike. There are still spots if you have one: here
Is josh the intern?
and highly paid at that. 10,000 kola nuts an hour.
nice dan impression
This guy is the new CJ
Josh has a ways to go until he’s the new CJ. He still has hair and he’s never taken a dump in the middle of GMSR.
These are things to aspire to, Josh. Take note.
one can dream…
I don’t who should be more offended by that comparison
Hope the old timer wakes up
The CRCA C field limit is 75 riders.
thx
MOSER! HOLDJA LINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i predict moser’s lap time will be 51.151 seconds.
Moser rode like a true champion, the field was very respectful. It is nice when cycling hero doesn’t act like egomaniacs.

NOTE: A special thank you to cycling legend Francesco Moser for competing in our race. We were all humbled by his appearance and it was a true honor to have him compete. Mr. Moser raced with pure class and finished in the main field but was often seen in the top 10. The 61 year old revealed this was his 4th time on the bike this year. After the race Mr. Moser signed autographs and posed for pictures and always had a smile on his face. I’m sure I speak for everybody when I say this was a race I will never forget – Charlie Issendorf (Race Director)

A riders no less…come on guys!
Sam Torres… time to upgrade, no?
According to his official results he only has 8 finishes so is not eligible for an upgrade. And some of the Spring Series races were only two laps which is below the required minimum distance so do not count.

Preliminary Results – see http://www.crca.net/2012/04/preliminary-results-421/
Rod,
Very true; however, as you know not all races have results submitted to USAC. He may be eligeable if he has done any none reported races and has kept good track of the race info including bib number, etc. I have heard much about the brothers Torres and think they will do well when both are Cat 4s.
victor those are terrific shots of moser!
what a cool event, wish i could have seen it in person.
thanks for memorializing it.
I was so sad to miss it, but I’m glad Victor got some shots. Moser is a class act indeed.
Thanks. No problems. 🙂 Yeah, it was fun….:)
Get off Sam’s dick and go train!
They are here.

The rest of Cat 4 and Cat 5 shots will be up later today.
American bicycle races are just too big and overweight, maybe because of all that bad processed food they eat.
Knives over Forks
Super Size Me
Obese – the races are big and fat or the racers? Not sure what you are saying.
NYC bicycle races are Phat not Fat!
That’s retarded.
