Many of you are probably basking in the afterglow of last night’s Greg Lemond Lovefest (wine hangovers suck!). The witty banter and waxing poetic of Schmalz and Greg Lemond gave me the warm and fuzzies. But let’s not forget, there’s racing and riding to be done this weekend!
On the Mud n’cowbells side, you’ve got 3 options: drive all the way up to Northampton, MA for the Two-day Cycle-smart race (part of the Verge series), or you can keep it nice and local (Jersey), with the Horseshoe Scramble on Saturday and Hidden Valley CX on Sunday.
If you’re not feeling knobby tires and skinsuits, then there’s a much more sophisticated, gentlemanly option: NYC Velo and Independent Fabrications are hosting a shop ride on saturday morning. It’ll be a mellow ride to piermont featuring many people on expensive IF’s, including the Rapha team. I.F. Demo bikes will be available for testing after the ride. Meet at 8:30 AM at NYC Velo (2nd ave between 3rd and 4th st)
Guzman KILLED it. Bill Elliston went for a swim…
My favorite course over the past 3 years. Such great weather, food, beer, technical front half and wide open back half. Great day and the double sand pit was a blast.
Guzman was so far ahead in the 3s it was scarey. Oh and of all the people to dump it in the pond I never would have guessed it to be to Bill E.
Thanks again for a great race.
excellent race. Now show me some photos of myself!
Riverside Drive, 6am,

With DLS, we have some morning light again…

Great course! Anyone know who was taking all the pictures during the race. There was definitely a professional type photog along the course snapping shots.

there are a lot of fast kids around. it’s the other attributes that count more. and everyone knows who the nice, responsible children who would fit in well on a team are and who are the loudmouths who can’t get a 20 in a regional road race.

Oh, heavens no! I can’t get 20 (place? dollars?) in a road race! The world shall soon end!

I think I may have found a team with some really cool guys who killed Superweek last year – I finally have a reason to ride again. I’m getting my hopes up, but I’ll have to cool it until I see what the future actually brings. I will update with news.
But as for Now…
Mengoni – DENIED
CCB – DENIED
Spooky – IGNORED
Champion Systems – IGNORED
Land Rover/Orbea – IGNORED
Toby Stanton’s U23 Team – CONSIDERED (sort of, but more like ‘let me down easy’)
Bob’s Bicycles – CONSIDERED (seemed interested until they read my resume…)
Bikereg – CONSIDERED (I seriously think I will NEVER get on this team)
