Reporting on local races is interesting, especially when you have stuck a fork in your own season and aren’t attending said races. People are very keen on getting their results posted here for all the world to comment on, some so much so that they send you text messages after getting results to make sure you are aware and give them their full "due". More on that in a min…
On Sat at the Central Park Nationals (™ HSH), aka the CRCA race, Zach Koop of Blue Ribbon narrowly beat out Dylan Lowe (BH/CC) and Gavin Robertson (Foundation) in the A race, Stefan Singer of siggi’s beat Noah Gellner (Sid’s) and Stephen Chang (CyclelifeUSA) in the B race, Fabienne Gerard won the women’s race and David DeSimone won the C race. Full results here. I would like to take this time to abuse my power here and thank the current CRCA board for an excellent and extremely well run season. Kudos for working hard and continuing to bring great racing to the area and spending many thankless hours doing so. Across town at the Kissena Fall Classic, someone named Katz Katz won the Kissena Men’s field, Chase Goldstein won the 1/2/3 race, Scott Mills won the 4 race and Billy Wherley took the 5 race. Full results here.
On Sun, people went in circles around FBF. Mike Anderson (siggi’s) won the cat 4 race with a daring solo attack with a few laps to go that stuck. Ariel Mendez-Penate (Champsys) also pulled a late solo attack (he’s a cat 1, did you guys know that?) that stuck for the win in the 1/2/3. I know this because Ariel decided to text me on sun to gloat about how awesome he is. He also later sent me a gchat message to make SURE I gave him a shout out here. Here it is Ariel, your shout out to the masses. Now go and use that payout to buy a razor and shave that ridiculous hipster moustache you have been cultivating. It looks stupid.
Moving on…
I’m pretty sure I won something this weekend.
We know, you won FBF. Sure you will see your name here soon enough. Relax
Better here than no where. FBF results haven’t been updated by WS United since 9/2!

That articles says “Opponents are likely to be likely be out in full force.”
You know why they’ll out number the proponents? Because they had more than 6 hours notice of the meeting.
We get what we deserve.
The amount of snark in this post is really top-notch. Snaps for Josh.
I know we all got short notice, but do what you can to attend tonight please.
Romney’s top strategist http://www.outsideonline.com/fitness/Drug-Test.html Now everyone go get that velodrome!! Thanks to all who go out

thats actually a really good deal
I was at the Brooklyn Bridge Park Community Advisory Council meeting last night. The good news is that the room was well-packed with supporters from the cycling community here, who spoke out and made a good case. The bad news is that there are a handful of vocal and committed opponents on the committee who have been out in the press and at the meetings and seem to be the most prominent voices.
There are more meetings scheduled where there will be public comment periods. While there wasn’t press at this one, there likely will be at others. Reporters (I’m one, though not on this topic) need to know who to talk to if they’re going to quote supporters. If you see one, go chat them up and make your case. If you’re making public comments at meetings, be ready to explain what track cycling is (in very, very basic terms), why it’s good for the city and the cycling community (talking about kids programs went over well), and how the facility would be widely used by the entire NYC cycling community (not just a smaller group of current track riders).
Good luck everyone.
What is track cycling? Why do we need it? There is not enough riders, no money to be made.
Track cycling is going round & round & round indoors.
It’s like Central Park, only shorter. And faster. And you can drink beer on the infield.
Much better, I’d say.

For sale people? What kind of people you sellin’?
Thought that got outlawed awhile ago, no?
If not, I could use a transgender Brazilian midget to do some light housekeeping.
It’s the lamest attempt to boost points by track riding in Brooklyn. Ride against weekend goofers and there’s no credibility.
