Foundation FTWWWW

After a half-wet weekend, it’s time to shake off the rain and see who won what.

At the CRCA club race, the Foundation intra-squad competition honors (also known as the A race) went to Rafael Meran. Kristin Lotito of Houlihan-Lokey/Sanchez won the woman’s race. Antonio Munoz, also of Foundation won the B race. Robert Wortmann of Siggi’s/NYvelocity won the C race. Results are here.

At Saturday’s race in Prospect Park, Augusto Sanchez won the 123 race in a 2 man break with Gavi Epstein, Danny Iona is rumored to have won the master’s race with a 4-lap solo effort, but after that, the internet goes silent. If you won or know who did this weekend, please share that information with the class.

Mr. Breach has offered to preach with a soulful saxophone and drum duet a la John Coltrane & Elvin Jones at the beginning of the of the next park race to atone for his sins. It is a little known fact that Mr. Breach attended Berklee College of music as music major prior to quitting smoking, losing 20 pounds and becoming NYC’s next cycling star.

There has been much speculation that Mr. Breach might leave the notable NYC cycling team of G.S. Mengoni and start a new all star team called the “Central Park Rippers” funded by a wealthy private backer. Breach choose not to comment on his team status for next year or his saxophone playing.

Benjamin Topcap

“What kind of fucked up world do we live in, where a sexy man cannot play his saxophone wherever he damn well pleases?”

Danato Skidmark

Meran, Vidal, Sanchez, etal are suppose to be racing under the DR tri-color uniform; Instead, they are racing patio type of races which will diminish their skills

SPoke

DR people doesnt do nothing for them. Instead , this team offerts then the oortunity to make big races in the United States, Vidal is nymber 5 in USa Crits and Meran 15. They have a lot of experience and conditions for the local riders, but outside NY is something else.

FBF is CANCELED!

Tonight’s Floyd Bennett Race is canceled. Turn 2 is under a foot of water, the Start/Finish runway has the far 5 right lanes flooded and there are large “lakes” all over the course. The course is unsafe for racing.

Please spread the word to your fellow cyclists.

Charlie this is the second week. The course is perfectly fine. When are we gonna get back to real men racing bikes and not a bunch of pussies? Ride through the efing puddles. Now I have to self motivate myself to do a 2hr training ride. Is that fair? This is why a lot of these local cyclists have no bike handling skills. Too much racing in perfect conditions. Thanks charlie for effing up my training week.

Victor Polished

There’s an FBF race on Thursdays.

That said I’d be up for a renegade race in either PP or CP. Maybe the west side path.

Ethan Brifter

I was just about to take my performance enhancing drugs in preparation for floyd. Would have been a waste. Thanks again. See you next tuesday.

Thursday FBFs are on a different course, and they don’t have the same flooding issues as the Tuesday races.
