I missed the post-race computations at the CRCA point’s race as I was sprinting towards waffles, if you did happen to win the race, let us know.Â
Bethel’s last races was held Sunday. Robert Lattanzi wins in the 40+ race and the overall. Ann Marie Miller Metro Sanchez was 2nd, wrapping up the overall title. The unattached Jacob Hacker won the 123 race with Stephen Gray of Bethel Cycle Sport winning the 3/4 race. Bob Griffith’s pictures are here.
Photographic evidence suggests that Lisban Quintero wins in the in the 123 Spring Series race with Gary Steinberg taking the masters race. Look for photo evidence yourself here. Video evidence is here.
Will O’Donnell wins another TT at Readington, Ellen Moses wins the women’s race, and Stephanie Busloff of Razorfish wins the women’s 4. Pictures here and here.
Filip Capala wins the PNC 3/4 race.
And Tom “the Boner” Boonen wins Roubaix in a show of faux hawk strength over Cancellara and Ballan. But the big winner has to be Marco Quezada who accurately predicted the top three in Roubaix on Friday. I will now be rubbing Marco for luck whenever I encounter him, as opposed to the reasons I normally rub him for.
Photos now on separate page, see homepage.

first
if you are going to “first” at least try to put a funny title on it
ellen beat the Readington women’s ITT field by a wide margin– a very nice result close on the heels of last week’s 2nd place at sandy hook (where she was 4 seconds off of 1st place…).
im not first
god damn sandbaggers in jogger lane wheelsuckers!@#@#
There were a lot of riders in the joggers lane in the sprints on Harlem Hill in the CRCA A Race.
Way to go AMM!
Bike racing at the Garden State Arts Center, what will these kids think up next? Last time I went there was in 1985, to see Eric Clapton.
’cause you def would have had them beat if they stayed 2 ft to the right huh? Haha.
I never saw any such lane infringements, by the way. Not sure you are right, at least about “a lot” of riders. Of course I was too far back to notice from the front row perspective.
No pictures from saturday’s CRCA points race? I want to see ME ME ME! I only really race for the pleasure of seeing myself in photographic form, then I have something to show to Mamma!
actually, i would say going into the jogger’s lane in a sprint is a huge advantage. The hardest part of sprinting is positioning and getting around people at the right time. CRCA races are kind of self-policed like a pickup basketball game. Hopefully the karma catches up to those cheaters in real races.
ok let start by saying I told you so..
my method it very scientific.
here’s how I picked the winner and losers.
bonnen rides for Quickstep right?
and they ride SPECIALIZED bikes.
and I ride a SPECIALIZED bike. and like the bike. so it was an obvious choice.
second
Fabian is Swiss and I have a Swiss army knife that I use every now and then
so I figure that he’ll win every now and then. and he won then but will not win now. so I gave him second.
Ballan its I talian and I like italian food alot. but not more then 3 times a week. so I gave him tres.
and there you have it folks
thats how I got my picks.
its not brain sergury.
and Dan I’ll take a rubbing from you any time.
last year was pretty safe. this year is mayhem. discuss.
apparently involves crashing alot this year…
the history behind “adler rode a smart race” jokes. why is this team so maligned here?
i think someone once posted that they rode a smart race (not in jest) and it just took on a life of its own.
plus people like to rag on them becuase of their general fashionable-ness
and they are no good.
that’s all i need to say, right? best logic in the peloton.
im sure that will now get deleted.
that’s all i need to say, right? best logic in the peloton.
Notice how ken did not wear the penis helmet this weekend? Perhaps our insults actually do work.
I’m prety sure a lot of it comes from Matt Richards of team NYVelocity
cause when an adler guy gets a broken clavicle, it’s all jokes, but when NYVC goes down it’s awww get better u rule
Adler comments are cycling’s equivalent of penis envy.
Whoa there. No Adler hate coming from me. Any posts I’ve made are signed, unlike the previous accusation…
I only know a few of the Adler guys and they all seem to be positive and having fun on and off the bikes. They do not take this stupid sport for more than it is. If they stay together they will have a strong team in a year or two. As it is now, they and Westwood have the two best Cat3 squads hands down (by best I mean the deepest rosters). With time they will be a solid cat 2 team. They also race out of town alot and do fairly well – Kim R won Battenkill last year. Tron Witt was a top 5 GC at GMSR just to name a few good results. They are not going to light up Pro1-2 races but maybe in a few years.
Finally, why are we even talking about Adler, Battenkill is in 5 days and the weather is calling for 65 and sunny up north. Predictions … I attack and then get dropped after I blow up.
A local wins the Cat 2 race – Malloy or Nick Bruno;
Pro – A Canadian wins the Pro race with maybe Lisbon if he celebrates a few seconds later this year;
30plus masters – Roger A wins or maybe Andy Ruiz.
Cat 4 – a local wins maybe (Kimani N. Eugene D. or maybe Adam Duncan or John Landino if they can make it to the line with the leaders);
Cat 3 – A westwood rider maybe or Ryan Pettit maybe but I think it will be some older guy that noone has ever heard of.
Who is Matt Richards anyway and why do we care about him?
matt richards invented the ferris wheel.
Yeah, why are we talking about him…? Let’s change the subject.
of Adler’s Zum Schneider discount…
here’s hoping that everyone that crashed this weekend gets better soon- especially Littlefield and Rubey.
Personally, if I crash, I hope somebody will have the presence of mind to at least make fun of me in some way on this site. Its way more fun than just the “get wells”, after all.
Envy. They’re the cool guys. The Heathers
Matt Richards killed a guy with a trident.
I’ve been meaning to talk to him about that. He may want to lay low for a while. the authorities are probably looking for him
Who didn’t crash on Sat, and what were the final results?
Having a dozen guys zig-zagging through the pack leads to chaos. People in NY especially (try driving here) just don’t get the importance and etiquette of riding in a straight line.
it wasn’t the rain then?
Rain and wet tree buds seemed to take everyone by surprise.
Not only wetness and tree buds but the roadway prior to the downhill – near the cut-off entry – had some landscaping shenanigans going down on the right so there was a lot of sand and grit on the road. + that area is sort of grainy and sandy on the left as well. Once that gets on the tires, going into a wet corner fast is, well……
I also noticed guys spilling out from reacting to the crash yet werent anywhere near it. I call that panic braking. Many fell victim to that. It seems that when riding in a pack, it feels like you’re not going very fast and so there was this false sense of speed. 24mph sorta feels like 20 or even 18. So once something happens that needs braking, that reality speed hits home then home hits you in the collarbone and see at the startline in Sept! Sorry to see things go down like that. Vision thru the lenses wasnt super great either. The first guy that invents tear-aways lenses for cyclist will make some moola.
to summarize: clueless guys who don;’t knwo to slow down in the rain.
It wasnt raining.
That seems like a lot of excuses for being terrible bike handlers. none of the As crashed…..Perhaps theres some sort of correlation? And I’m pretty sure a broken collarbone is no contest with an hip replacement. I could be wrong. Perhaps all B/cat 3,4,5 riders should take extra calcium.
the roads were wet. maybe others didnt notice that either, hence the problem?
CRCA is a shit show, lets just agree on that. You guys kill other people and almost kill yourselves.
At least 5 A riders crashed including Foundation and Empire.
Somehow I doubt that the PRO’s go through this finger pointing routine every time there’s a pile up.
Whomever was on point in that first lap crash, led the group into it going a little too fast I think. The same crash happened last year in the Masters, 50+ championship race. Same corner, simular conditions. Difference was that it was dry the first few times we took it and when the sky started spittin on us – things changed. A lack of experience played a small part but, really that crash could’ve happened in any field. There’s no reason to slam the club though. If guys want to race – they race. Many could have easily just stayed home.

Crashing this June…
If you like to hate Adler, you’re going to LOVE to hate PR
There were crashes in the A field Saturday. I was in that field and saw two or three guys crash in the S turn, at which point a guy next to me just laid it down in panic.
And a wise man with the initials ADM yelled “OK, I’m out” at the same moment.
For sure the average A riders level of skill in dealing with problems is higher than the average B rider, but riders at all levels crash. That’s part of the sport. Some guys crash too much though.
ok, we got it, you were top 10. congratulations. now stop posting the results on every page.
The Germans vs. the Latinos
who won what teams?
i heard sara s took every sprint in the women. guys? lisban? bs still rolling?

Remember this from last summer:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=3jeB9_VmkNc
going too fast is not a criteria for crashing, unless you overbake a turn. If you puss out and lay your bike down because you can’t control it at high speeds, Learn. Nothing like getting swept out by some douche who shouldn’t be next to you.
thanks genius. Apparently you werent in the race. All the crashes happened on a wet downhill facing turn. Key word there is t u r n.
anybody get the CRCA results? wrecks, C field DQ’d?, B field break, A field break
So you can’t handle “wet” turns is what you’re saying?
and by T U R N do you mean that sweeping curve? thats not a turn. try not pumping your tubulars up to 6000psi on your zipps…..
Hard compound winter tires such as Conti Gators aren’t so good on a slick surface either.
winter tires? you can prly remove those now, or never put them on cause you don’t need them around here.
I use them. Not because we have epic conditions, but because they are supposedly thicker, and less likely to flat. Taking the gloves off, and changing a flat when its 25 degrees ain’t fun.
Use Mr. Tuffies. No flats. Done.
this thread is so fun I cant stand it. Busting a gut here.
Do you really get than many more flats in the winter to require faggy mr. tuffies? suck it up and ride a normal tire.
Is it acceptable to roll white tires before memorial day, or never?
there’s a little somethin to that. Most of the fun dudes from that squad I dont see around anymore.
all in all it sounds a little like sour grapes though. They’re probably a lot a fun to race against though.
but raisins make me poo.
that you even bother with flats?
Suck it up
that doesn’t make sense.
