Latest FBF info
The concept for this page is simple, we will let you know whether the race will be happening. Charlie will text us if the status changes, and then we will post the change on this page in the comments section. This should go without saying but, DO NOT TRUST A POSTING FROM ANYONE EXCEPT A SIGNED IN MEMBER OF THE NYVC STAFF, i.e. myself, Andy, Aaron or Alex. FBF is a blood sport and I’m sure that some teams would even stoop to trickery in order to keep their competition at home, so check the log in names.

Hope everyone is ok.
hope everyone is ok.
I think Tom Luzio got it the worst
Unfortunately these words rang true yesterday…
Broken collarbone and broken ribs.
what happened?
little guy ducks under branches. big guy following got taken down bc he couldnt get low enough. that caused the crash.
On a positive note, the outside bar at FBF was serving last night. At least 10 beers on tap.
Hope everyone heals quickly!
also caused a bad crash last year.
they should either cut them or place cones around the area.
That’s like saying the gravity of the earth broke my collarbone.
Especially in an abandoned park where weeds have grown seven feet tall and woody.
It was a vine that caused a crash last year. That shit hooks your bars and even the most skilled bike handler has no hope of staying up. Thanks again to whoever cut it the next week.
Would a painted line 10 feet out make a difference?
Sure, just like the joggers lane.
at least one serious wreck last year caused by the bush on turn one
$200 for a striping machine and a dozen cans of paint
Heh, you said “bush”
I agree that a painted line 10 feet from the bushes would help. It is very hard to keep away far enough to allow the inside rider room to avoid a branch. You have plenty of room and then you have none. This is especially true if the wind is coming from the outside and the tendency is to move to the leeward side of the rider in front of you.
As far as the comment about the joggers lane goes, I think most people respect that line. And, it gives a buffer in case a rider gets squeezed.
How happy will you be with the painted line when it’s wet?
I like white lines.
Just go out there and cut the bust at the base. Then dig out the roots. The ones on the straight could be trimmed back with the right power tools.
is it a simple pruning job? I’ll go out there this weekend if it is.
I love the smell of napalm in the morning.
Trimming that lot is industrial scale.
I second napalm. Dropped as the race passed by — talk about more spectacular than the Italian air force flyover at last year’s Giro. . .
Aye thought youuuuu were orcs
go near the bush at your peril
we need to get fbf some more paparazzi exposure then, bush will always be trimmed proper.
Think I lost it at FBF this Tuesday night in the parking lot. If anyone found it please email me at sonomasnap@gmail.com
Thanks
Ok, mapquest has me driving on the sidewalk through someone’s bodega in Jackson Heights. Coming from Columbia Univ area. Anyone with good advice? Snide comments also happily accepted.
Ride. It’s probably faster. As long as you’re not a 5 hit Grand Army by 6 and ride with the rest of the bunch.
