Eutimio Quintero: “I’m always looking, always concentrating. I tried to attack on the third lap, but everyone was so strong that I decided to wait for the sprint.”

The 4-race unfolded according to time-honored tradition, with the field whittled away— mostly on the climb—to about twenty or so, who ended in a mass sprint.
Norbert O’Reilly, a pre race favorite, actually pulled out at the end of the second lap because he felt ” it wasn’t really a race, there was no aggression and everyone was content to just wait for the sprint finish, what the fun of that?!”
Eutimio Quintero has been strong all season, placing in the top five consistently, but this was his biggest win of the season. He can climb, time trial, and sprint, and he is old enough to have fathered many of the other Cat 4’s. It was especially impressive to see him pass race-day favorite and star of the future, Euri Madera on what will probably be a short stop over in the 4’s before he’s racing with the big boys.
Big ups to CRCA riders Aaron Wolfe, Ivry Semel, Scott Snyder, and Anthony (Irish) O’Malley for continued improvement. These guys are working their asses off and might start thinking about upgrades in the near future.

Eutimio — great win.
Did anyone else notice that Euri’s not old enough to drink, yet is hold a bunch of beer?
I bet Euri doesn’t spend so much time at the front in his next race. He did too much work.
Yea, i was kinda bored too, with the lousy weather and crappy course, I almost pulled out after the neutral start, Yawn.
I did too finish…18 minutes back. the woman warned me about 10 seconds before the start that the camera wouldn’t be able to read my #…means nothing maybe but i should have gone to the table and pointed out my #.
What’s up with that podium pic? Those guys all look pissed!
good job uncle 🙂
hey padre congrats, great job.
