Dear Friends, Supporters, and Cycling Fans,
I’m thrilled to announce the premier of “Cheetah – the Nelson Vails Story” in my hometown of Harlem. Produced by Scott Q. Nguyen, the hour-long documentary chronicles my improbable ascension from New York City bike messenger, to the podium of the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
As the first, and only African American to ever medal in cycling at an Olympics, I invite you to join me for an evening of cycling history, inspiration, and a chance to win a private “Go Ride with Nelly” clinic for you and four of your friends.
VIP Reception and Reserved Seating
Beginning at 6:00pm, our VIP ticket package ($50) begins with a 90 minute “meet-and-greet” reception with delicious hors d’oeuvres and no-host bar, plenty of photo opportunities with me before the showing, a raffle drawing, and of course, prime, reserved seating in the Mist Theater’s main showing room.
Your VIP ticket also automatically enters you in our raffle for a chance to win an autographed Nelson Vails cycling jersey and other commemorative prizes.
General Admission
Doors open at 7:30pm for general admission ticket holders. Get there early for a chance to participate in our raffle and silent auction before the showing begins at 8:00pm.
A portion of all proceeds will be donated to “I Challenge Myself,” a non-profit organization benefitting public high school students nationwide to develop healthy lifestyles, embrace challenges as opportunities, and prepare for continuing education. www.ichallengemyself.com
I look forward to seeing you all in New York City! Thank you for your steadfast and continued support!
Respectfully,
Nelson Vails
