Before I get into poorly forecasting tomorrow’s break and/or combative riders, a little note on programming:
The cameras at the tour seem to be focusing on the wrong things: Majka’s winks (dude: that doesn’t make it cool for you to use the moto to get extra help, but props nonetheless), Neebz’s attacks, whoever is drifting off the back of the peloton, etc. These are cool and all, but the coverage needs to emphasize where things are real. By which I mean: let’s see more finger pointing, fisticuffs, poop stops, and wheelies.
I mean, who doesn’t like watching Sagz do the no-hands-dance (actually, pretty sure I don’t want to see that…), Demare taking advantage of Swiss hospitality, Tommy V yelling at fans, Grieps getting pissed at Chavenel, or L-Durbs checking a Movistar lacky?  That shit is pure entertainment, and I want more.
Okay, since I’m setting this in late for the east coast, let’s get down to business:
As you know, I want all the breaks, all the time, but tomorrow might be all about Neebz crushing everyone just because he can. Or maybe it’s that Vinokourov gets bored and yells through the earpiece for Neebz to start crushing souls? Either way, why not get another trophy, eh?
Yet, an early break would certainly have the chance to hang out to dry while Movistar, AG2R, and FDJ look at each other, so maybe the sad Sky bots will send Nieve out to catch some of that TV time they expected Froome to get?
Majka will probably want to wink through some more KOM, so I’m sure he’ll be flying his freak flag up the Tourmalet, though he very well might play a Purito on the final climb and practice riding backwards, since he’s more or less wrapped up the Polkas.
So, that leaves the French to play their game for 3rd, especially on Hautecamper — which means lots of attacks in the group behind Neebz, which could lead to another red card for Bardet.
This all being said, what I really want to see (because I haven’t taken off my “support our dudes” shirt yet — the morning group ride didn’t think that was cool, fyi) is Teejay just go nuts. I know his style this tour is that he doesn’t really attack (and when he does he seems to make sure someone’s with him, and then quits when they don’t work), but he got his legs back today, and… well — he did this last year when the Tour gave d’Huez the double-tap, so… Teejj: GET SOME FOR AMERICA.
