Check out the fastest road to nowhere. Speeds in excess of 50mph are routinely reached in thrilling head-to-head matchups on the classic Barelli Quadrulet Competition Rollers with Dial Face. Up to four racers can square off in a single heat where their silky smooth strokes will be put to the test.

Come Race or Spectate. Both will have ample opportunities to sample Brooklyn Brewery’s best. Whether you like your brew light or dark, Brooklyn has the taste for you.

Racing will consist of 500-meter seeding heats followed by 1k head-to-head races done in classic match-sprint-style elimination heats. USCF license mandatory, one-day licenses available on site. USCF Gear Restrictions will apply. If you’ve ridden rollers before, give this a spin. If you haven’t, please try at home before attempting racing. Warmup begins 7pm. Entry Fee $8. Prizelist: TBD.

Finally a roller race in a place where it deserves to be.

I was hoping the strike would continue and we could have it in Macy’s. In Europe many a pro started by drinking beer at the pub and trying his or her hand at the mayhem… As did my union carpenter buddy Gustamaris Stam, who rode for the Shell team in Holland in the 1970’s. Come one come all, even if you don’t rock and roll – come, watch and have a bev or two.

Jay F.

I thinking of going with a 12×20 ratio on the day (unless Brooklyn Brewery uses 16oz cups, in which case I’ll likely notch back to a 14×16).

kwk

i plan on going but i really am not very good, I am not that good a sprinter either. I am 38, even when i was 28 my jump was just slightly above average for a local racer.

But i dont care if Nothstein is there i will try.

For anyone on the fence this is really fun and very hard too

nerd

any idea what sort of watts would the likes of kwk, molloy and ken harris be doing for these 1k stints ?

kwk don’t be modest – and so youthful in appearance for a 38 year old

it’s more about technique and spin with the gear restrictions and the massive drums. Ragot beat Harris last year, so that should tell you something about hte watts.

campocat

It is in max gearing 51×14 but a spinner can use a smaller gear.

Victor Vittelli beat Mike McCarthy with a 47×14 at the Seaport bar.

You can only smoke pot.

How about a topless night.

You can tell more people are sitting in front of their computers this time of year.

I ride a 42×18 but I needed my 18 for my training bike so I have been riding a 42×14 – last week I pulled my tool box on a hand truck from the GM Building 59th st. to my house on the Bowery behind me with one hand.

I have pictures. Work sucks.

Mr Green

Ragot is a cat 1 on the track why wouldn’t he beat Ken who is what a 5 on the track? It would have been something if Ken had beat Eric but nope Ken lost like he was suppose to.

can you read? my point is that it’s about technique AND power, which is why it’s not surprising ragot won. on pure power alone ragot is nowhere near harris. and from what i hear harris is a former trackie.

What off season?

Meet me on the other side of the GBW Sunday 10am

track bikes. Plan on hurting. Bring your own papers.

On the Ken versus Eric thing are we talking about Eric Clapton and Kenny Hendricks?

If it snows bad enough so you can’t walk over the bridge.

Go to Mikes bagels on 168 and bway and we will make other plans. 70 inch or 48×18 49×17 in that area. When someone shows up with a 94 it fucks up the workout. Save the big gears and your knees for the summer please. Hos – complimentary surprise for best riders.

Just saying

I know Campocats a legend and rightly so -but does anyone else have problems deciphering what hes on about most of the time ?

Dear "Just saying,"

Yep, I’m with you about the ease of translating Mr. Campo. No doubt he’d kick my a$$ on track or road, but I think he’s been sampling those wares he mentions . . .
