Love Crank Tonight!

Section head text.

We’re making the party a fund raiser for Fernando Cuevas. We’re donating our proceeds to Fernando, and you can chip in at the party or with paypal here. See you there!

The big day is here, and since we’re planning on being drunk, we thought it would be a good idea to acknowledge all the people that helped us out.

As always, we couldn’t do this without Dave Perry, Taliah Lempert, and Arone Hotness Dyer. Alan Atwood, who rocks, will be there. Greg Weinberg of St. Pauli Girl is in again with beer. Mmm beer. Charlie Issendorf and Champion Systems indulged us with winners’ jerseys for a second time. Ric Hjertberg of FSA and Ed and Robin Uribe of Spiuk chipped in with prizes. Anthony Accardi helped us out with decorations. Daniel de la Nuez will help out with the kegs.

Speaking of kegs, we’re offering free admission for two keg pumping volunteers. Get in touch if you’re unusually adept at making a reciprocating motion with your right arm.

Our prize list this time:

Men’s Winner: FSA Clip on aerobars and base bar, case of beer, lovely sleeveless jersey.

Men’s Runner-up: FSA mini clip-on aerobars, case of beer.

Men’s Second Runner-up: Case of beer.

Women’s Winner: FSA basebar, case of beer, lovely sleeveless jersey, Schmalz podium boy treatment.

Non Gambling Winner: A full set (one each) of Spiuk’s massage products.

There’ll be a special door prize for the first 40 to arrive. We promise it’ll be fabulous.

Love the idea of, and the cause for, the party. Come to the UK and run one here.

Or run one the first week in March and I can get there.

About to donate.

How old do you have to be to get in because I want to go watch the roller race but I heard that no miniors allowed is that true?

schmalz

I believe minors can get in, no drinking – obviously. So it’ll be $10 for minors. If you’re above 21, sorry – still $20 even if you don’t drink.

Hats off to nyvelocity

Very cool to help Fernando. How can we send money without PayPal if we can’t make it tonite?
Never used PayPal and don’t want to start.

Didn’t Peter Salon and Lisban get started with Fernando?

Ric

Yea, can’t make it tonight. The Ric done messed his leg up and needs the tender hands of Stumpet to apply the lotion. I’ll be watching the match via live webcam I hid behind the bar. Stumpet! Bring the hot rag!

I did "finish reading the page" before I "jumped on these guys backs" – it’s just tucked in there below the ‘men’s second runner up’ and I missed it. I immediately called myself on it. I see women getting overlooked a lot in this sport (is it the chicken or the egg, I dunno), but I never said I’m not thankful for this awesome event or for NY Velocity. After all, they let people like you use your first amendment rights on a daily basis. How’s that for a change?

Thanks for hosting the event and trying to get women to race by letting them race for free. That’s pretty cool. Kissena this year is giving incentives as well. Can’t say the same for some of the other races, but again… chicken or egg… who knows?

To poster below: Ill give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you just spent too many hours on the rollers this weekend….and fried your brain.

FLB

Geez people are ready to jump on these guys backs pretty quickly, before they have finished reading the page. Thanks for throwing this NyVC, its much appreciated!

How bout that for a change?

no prize for women??

NONE? Do you even want them to race? Doesn’t that make it more fun? I thought we loved our women racers… was I wrong?
