It’s March, and you know what that means: tons of bike racing options in less than optimal weather so you can be well and truly burned out by August/September, just in time for the really nice bike racing weather. Today is the first day of spring, which of course means MOAR SNOW. Hopefully this won’t ruin your chance of attaining mightiness this weekend, but if it does we are not giving you your money back. There are lots of racing options locally this weekend, so let’s just get started…
On Sat, there is a CRCA club race in CP and the 2015 Lucarelli & Castaldi Branchbrook Park Spring Series: DST Tour in lovely Newark, NJ no bike racing because SNOW and THE UNIVERSE HATES YOU. There is also a track racing clinic at Kissena for those who may not be ambi-turners.
On Sun, there is the Bethel CDR Gold Race – Aetna Nutmeg Spring Series, which is the last race in Bethel this spring before the series heads up to Hartford, which is apparently a place you go when you don’t want to stay at home and cut yourself. And if driving north to race on a short course with only right turns isn’t your thing, you could stay in the boundaries of NYC and go to the first track race of the year at Kissena, the Lucarelli & Castaldi 6 Days of Kissena where you can race on an even shorter course with only left turns. I am told the track is clear of all the frozen dog poop, which is nice.
Until Mon…

I’m trying to get my bike racing in now so I can go on vacation when it’s actually nice out.
