After last week’s false start, the first weekend of racing will officially begin in the New York area. Weather-persons across the area predict a soggy Saturday start which will make for interesting circumnavigations of the “dead guy” course. The Classic Coke of the traditional Bethel circuit reappears briefly for the first of two weekends before it goes to its new home in New Britain, known to New York City racers as “almost goddam Hartford”. Due to the last minute pulling away of the Spring Series football, Branchbrook races are on Saturdays, and will conflict with many CRCA races—look for many Spring Series Racers to try and hitch rides to Newark.
It’s too late to register for Grant’s Tomb, but you can see who registered here.
The succinctly named 2015 Lucarelli & Castaldi Branchbrook Park Spring Series: Ronde von DeGraw will be on Saturday morning as well.
And finally, the Tour de Kirche – Aetna Nutmeg Spring Series will take place on the classic up, down and around course at Bethel.
