Shalom and hello in christian talk, too. This is the weekend where we either color eggs (in team colors, obviously) or do stuff with unleavened bread and a shank bone while singing poorly and in a dreary manner. Apparently, the being upstairs (no, not you mom!) thinks it’s ok to race bikes on pesach but Sun is too sacred, once again proving the old testament is better than the new. Jews are like the hipsters of the bible, they were into God when he was called Yahweh. Anyway, let’s see what opportunity there is this weekend for you to prove to your significant others that all that time “training” was essential for the mid-pack finish you are likely to turk…
On Sat, there is a chance for the 4/5 men and 3/4 women to race and preview the state championship course up in Harriman at the Army Spring Classic. Online reg is closed but day of is available. In Prospect park, there is the kick off of Charlie I’s ever popular Lucarelli & Castaldi Cup series. If Brooklyn isn’t your thing, you could go to scenic Newark and race at the 2015 Lucarelli & Castaldi Branchbrook Park Spring Series: Tour de Olmsted. The crime rate is higher but the Iberian food is much, much better (Spanish Tavern, mmmmmmmm). In Philadelphia, NYC’s shitty little ginger step-sister that has NOTHING going for it, there is the Philadelphia Navy Yard Criterium. Up in Coxsackie, which is NOT FUNNY STOP LAUGHING, there is the Trooper David Brinkerhoff Week #2. Finally, in Queens, there will be car burnings and hypodermic needles abound at the track for the Lucarelli & Castaldi 6 Days of Kissena #3.
