There is a rider who lives in NY named Melito Heredia who probably is riding on a Dominican Republic license. He is currently suspended for 2 years for a drug infraction. I have suspended his membership, but he did no
So it’s TRUE. Then how does he have a license.
Pulla as everyone knows has not been riding, so USCF is misinformed about him riding with a Dominican license.
It’s a sad disappointing story. And if you saw Pulla looking like Lance as he soloed the last 24 miles of Univest , it’s scary how effective whatever he took is.
He has ridden on a Dominican license in the past; that’s probably what Shawn Farrell was talking about.

Who cares, if your willing to sacrifice everything to be a top level amateur cyclist then its only natural that you would take something.
As I see it if your taking an aspirin because your stupid enough to think its going to allow you to carry more oxygen in your blood then thats just as wrong as taking something that USA cycling/UCI considers performance enhancing.
finally
will he be giving all of his prize money back to the racers who deserve it?
Amos Brumble happy or sad?
any reaction from John Eustice?
PROSPECT PARK, that is the dumbest, weakest logically, and most morally bankrupt post I could imagine, and Im just sad to find it here. You are clearly either a young (and as yet under-educated) fan blinded by loyalty, or a fast amateur well on the way to rationalizing cheating in your own game. Either way, you should try thinking about the consequences of your statement, maybe applied to other parallel situations that you might actually object to. Its not hard, man, just try using your head.
Believe it or not, cheating is not OK even if you are not being paid, though its clearly harder for me to understand for its sheer lack of motivating factors relative to the pros. Dont hide behind a wall of blind admiration or lean on the somewhat pathetic "self sacrifice" argument as a means to justify morally vapid behavior. Morality binds us all together as a society, and discarding it tears us apart. Don’t think this is just words unless you are prepared, for example, to sanction your own murder by a thug who believes he "needs" or "deserves" your money more than you need your life.
Prospect Park — there’s a difference between aspririn and, say, EPO. Aspririn is not banned. So using it is not cheating.
Very well put Chris M!
It sucks to think even at this level we are not above taking something to give us an "artificial" victory. When ever I hear about something like this I just think that somewhere along the way this person lost the reason they started to ride a bike in the first place. I think for majority of us the first time we road a bike it had nothing to do with winning or being better than someone else. We were in our own world possibly with friends merely enjoying the time we spent riding. When we are out there its important to enjoy the whole race, the camaraderie among friends, being with people who enjoy the same thing we do, and not just the finish line.
I feel bad for the guys that come out and race and work 9-5 jobs only to realize that the work they put in is being shat upon by a cheat. It sucks that we have to deal with this at our level. How does this guy sleep at night knowing his countless leader jersey’s he’s acquired over the years means absolutely nothing. Bear Mtn, Megoni, Univest – pissed away. Shameful in our own backyard. I guess the Club commander and chief was right all along. I know he’d never say I told you so but you know somewhere he’s making the face!
I remember hearing about Melito beating Bobby Lea in the breakaway sprint at Mnt. Holly 2003 ($2500 first place prize). Everyone was shocked as Bobby is (was) a track rider and one of the best srinters on the East Coast. Melito was still relativlely unknown. Now it makes sense. Very unfortunate for all no matter how you look at it.
As the promoter of Mt. Holly, i’m finally glad that this became public knowledge. There has been rumors about him since he stomed away from a full Navigators team chasing him at the 2006 edition of Mt. Holly.
The sad part is that as a promoter I feel that I have been robbed of all my hard work to help promote the sport by attempting to bring the sport to a new level that resembles the races in Europe. It makes me think about if this is really worth all the time and effort to promote an event of this level?
The big question is the rider going to return all the proceeds that he took from promoters during last season?
Ken – you are doing a great job. Continue with the race. The issue is doping -it is hard to catch guys and I am sure that even some of the pros that show up to race there are also not clean. I couldn’t tell you who – but maybe a rider policy can be given – that if you get busted within 1 year of your race – that you as a rider participating in Ken Mills events, will forfiet your winnings and return it to the promoter – along with any penalties. Not sure if this is legit or not but, I think guys who aren’t clean may think twice about doing races dirty.
