Floyd’s Baaaack

Landis speaks again

Floyd Landis appeared again last night with another long interview in, of all places, Yahoo Sports. Graham Bensinger interviews Floyd and he’s clearly done his homework. They rehash much of what was disclosed in Landis/Kimmage, but expand on a few topics. Floyd tears into Chris Carmichael, saying CTS is nothing but a front to cover for Armstrong’s relationship with Ferrari. He also explains why it was impossible for him to come clean right away: any confession would lead all the way back to Armstrong. USADA wanted him to turn on Armstrong, but he was disgusted at how badly they did their job he didn’t want to help them and let them appear competent.

It’s all fascinating, devastating stuff. Go through it clip by clip, don’t bother with the ‘full episode’, which is an edited, incomplete compilation.

one sweet vehicle. most think the foils are ostentatious, but they’re really necessary to keep the car from getting lift.

The bit about contract negotiations w/ Phonak during the last five minutes of the ‘drug test cover up’ clip is just fantastic.

Just curious, does anyone have the roster for the 2004 US Postal team at the Tour? I’m curious, based on what he says in this interview. He mentions that if others in that team (2004 tour) testify as he does, there would be no question. It would be interesting if that whole team did in fact get brought in to testify.

additionally, and at the risk of someone who is dwelling in the past,it would be interesting for someone to read Floyd a list of riders, and him say “yes” or “no” as to whether he has seen them dope in person. there are some lesser riders (phonak ones included) who would interest me. I’m pretty sure I know the answer to the question (duh), but would like to hear the list, since he has largely focused on American riders.

Floyd and James Stevens are forming a team sponsored by Brylcreem. Rumor is that they will known as the Flock of Seagulls…

Floyd should leave cycling far, far away. Take up lawn bowling and become an insurance salesman or something.

I was searching for Graham Bensinger interviews Floyd for a long time and I am glad that I found it. I should say he really got skills in cycling and his way of training is super sharp cheddar different and nice. I will download the video now.
