KOM and Sprint Competitions Added To Cadence Cup Series

With only days before the start of the 2009 Cadence Cup Prospect Park Series, the Kissena Cycling Club is pleased to announce the addition of two new competitions to the Cadence Cup Series.  The Lucarelli & Castaldi KOM competition and the Cycles Gladiator Sprint Competition will award overall prizes to the best climber and sprinter in the Pro/1-2-3 and Category 4 events.  Polka-dot KOM leader jerseys and green sprint leader jerseys will be provided by Champion System, the official leader jersey of the Cadence Cup Series.

“We’re thrilled to have the law firm of Lucarelli & Castaldi and Cycles Gladiator Wine sponsor the KOM and Sprint competitions” said Charlie Issendorf, Kissena Cycling Club Race Director.  “The law firm of Lucarelli & Castaldi has been a long-time supporter of New York City racing and Cycles Gladiator has shown their support of New York City cycling by sponsoring the Kraft Genie Cycling Team.  As always, I encourage all our racers to support the companies that support our sport”.

Yeah – to ride with every Tom Dick and Harry with a bike in cold wet conditions in Feb. Season is long. See you in May.

“How the F are they going …”

um, you get points for getting to the top of the hill in pp first, genius.

Or a “Competitive Eating Champ” for the guy who can steal and eat a rack of ribs off of someone’s BBQ and still finish with the pack.

As a lowly Cat 4 who shows up for every one of the PP races, I for one welcome any new addition that might add some variety to the gerbil-wheel laps.
And while I’m feeling magnanimous, let me say that I’m happy to see that while everything else is going to sh*t (economy, jobs, real estate, cost of living, etc. etc.), I’m glad that some folks are willing to invest more time and money in NYC bike racing. It would be just as easy for the promoters to say, “Times are tough, we’re cutting back, we’re not going to try for more sponsors, etc.”. But aside from a small reg fee increase, what I’m seeing is pretty much just the opposite. So a sincere thanks to the organizers and sponsors.
And to the a**holes who just come here to bitch, sarcastic or not, piss off.
That’s all. I feel much better now.

Come on – go find another website to disgrace with your generous spirit and pathetic grateful attitude. These sentiments clearly have no place here.

Please reserve this space for cynical, bitter, un(der)employed, anti-social losers who have nothing better to do with their lonely lives than to ride their bikes 12-25hrs / week, lust creepily after every (near)female form that appears on this site and berate everyone here with their anonymously brazen attacks.

what kind of cup is the cadence cup? is it a mug? a stein? a recycled paper cup like bank of amerillwide gives to its employees (and tells them to wash it and keep it for regular use)?
