I’ve been watching a lot of movies while riding the rollers, but I’ve never been comfortable with wearing headphones and running an extension cord to my TV or laptop – I just don’t like that cord dangling over the front wheel. So I have to crank the TV to 80 or 90, or plug the laptop into the stereo, and even then I need captions to catch all the dialogue over the din of the rollers. Either way it’s incredibly disruptive to everyone else in the apartment.

These headphones have been a real lifesaver this cold winter. They consist of two parts, a Bluetooth transmitter with a mini phono plug, and the actual headphones themselves. Plug the transmitter in and you’re good to go, up to a 30 foot radius. The cool thing is that the headphones can be paired to multiple devices, so if your cell rings while you’re riding you just have to tap the headphones to answer the call (there’s a built in mic for talking). Tap it again and you’re back to receiving audio from the transmitter. The one big drawback in my book is that it won’t receive music from an iPhone, just phone calls. So if you want to use it to play music, you’ll have to plug the transmitter into the iPhone.

They’re listed at about $180 retail, but a couple of minutes on Google will score it for $40.
